We've had English Bulldogs for the last 31 years and now I'd like to mount the Mack Truck Bulldog Hood Ornament to my 2004 F150. Has anyone mounted a hood ornament before? Any install suggestions would be greatly appreciated since the stock hood is plastic (yuk).

F-150 hood is plastic/fiferglass/resin, etc. - not metal like the old days.

 

just stick it in the middle of the dash and call it a day

Your hood is aluminum..... unless it has been replace with an aftermarket hood.

Not true, the factory hood is aluminum to save weight. Not plastic.

I dunno how they're mounted but living in the middle of the BULLDAWG nation i've seen several trucks at local dealers with a replica of Uga (the english bull dog mascot) mounted on the hood, not to mention various other UGA decals all over the truck. Not my personal taste since its a bit over stated IMO, but I assume the hood ornament is just mounted using double sided foam 3M tape.

 

I mounted a Yoda doll that came in a McDonald's Happy meal on the plastic hood of a John Deere 425 lawn tractor with poster mounting clay when I mowed in high school.
