2007 Heated seats - How hot?

Based on what I am hearing, either Ford changed something in the 07's or mine aren't working.
There "seems" like there might be some warmth coming from the seat, but then again the truck is also warming up on the inside and me sitting on the seat will warm it up too, so it could very well just be that. Put it this way - it's certainly not obvious. And this is on the high heat setting.
I was thinking my next step would be to check the fuse. One thing I forgot to mention is that the "indicator" lights are working - are they powered from the same fuse as the seat heater?
If the fuse seems to be fine, I think it's off to the dealership I go.
If anybody with a 2007 that's used their seat heaters could chime in, that would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks again everyone.

The heated leather bucketseats in my '07 F150 Lariat also are very low heat and slow to even get warm. Checked connections and found them all OK. Took it to my dealer and he says "thats the way they are susposed to work". My wife's '07 Escape heated seats work great. I suspect Ford has dialed down the intensity of the '07 F150 heated seats for some strange reason. Here in Northcentral Montana when Winter temperatures drop below Zero, I want real, working heated seats. This 4 time('97, '99, '02, '07) F150 owner is not happy!

I have an 05 Lariat and I wouldn't catagorize my heaters as **** burners but they do get comfortably warm on high and I can barely feel the heat on low. My wife likes the heat on her lower back when her back hurts. It does take a reset after the 10 minute cut off because you barely start feeling the heat before they shut down. I swear that I don't think they work until you actually sit on them though. Its like your **** heat must jump start them or something. I started the truck on one cold morning (yes, it does get into the teens here sometimes in Northwest Florida, we thin skinned Floridians catagorize anything less than 50 degrees as COLD) and turned on the seat heaters. When I hopped into the truck ready to go the seat was still cold to the hand and butt touch. It thought the seats had shut down but the indicators said they were on full blast. After I actually sat on them they warmed up quick. This is my first vehicle with seat heaters so I'm not quite sure what the deal is with that.

Are you kidding me??
I have not had the heated seats on a ford, but my wife's 2002 suburban with heated seats are awesome, and dont shut off unless you turn them off
that is terrible if true that the turn off after 10 minutes
Further diagnosis over the weekend has led me to conclude that my heated seats are working as intended / designed by Ford.
I was using them in pretty darn cold weather on my first few tests.....-25C (-13F). After the first 10-minute interval they were just starting to warm up, but the heat was definitely noticeable during the second 10-minute interval.
The performance is a little disappointing, but I guess it would be unreasonable to expect them to act very quickly given the above-mentioned temperature. I did try them again over the weekend when conditions were a little warmer and the seats warmed up significantly quicker.

Checked out heated seats in an 07 today.
Had a customer complaining that seats were only warm, not hot. Test drove it with a passenger and both seats heated up, but weren't burning hot. I've had hotter seats, but these were ok. I didn't turn them on a second time though. That would have been too hot. Maybe they turned down the heat for 07?

Whereabouts you at Tater? Peace River? Sounds like you are a mechanic at a Ford dealer......if you are close enough maybe I will bring my truck to you when I need service.

I did road test an 05 F150 with heated leather seats today, and it got hotter, faster than the 07 I drove earlier. I'm actually heading into GP tomorrow to drop off my inlaws so they can fly home.
Your business is always welcomed here though.

We have a couple places around us that install the seat heaters... They do a really nice job and I dont think they are that expensive.... If u have an Auto Sunroof around u, they are the cheapest and the best job...
