just a quick question. if the last piece there up against the actual air box was removed would the filter fit on that part alone. the actual mass air sensor.

No, because I am stuck with this:

The filter will not fit outside, or inside the opening in the pic. You can see where the prvious owner cut on the filter to make it work for him. But he had the MAF backwards.

That's what TP has listed for the '97 - '03 4.6 or 5.4L. Look alot like the one you ended up with. So as we've said before... WRONG YEAR DUDE! Send the chit back to whatever dumbass sent it to you and call up TP to get the right parts.

I appreciate everyone yelling at me in caps that its the wrong year. So for everyones consideration, especially the 5.4 guys that have a different system, the following pic is from a fellow member of f150online.com that also has the Af1 as pictured at the AF1 website:

You can see the tube is a 90 bend as stated before, which is exactly the part that I have.

I have been in contact wit the previous owner and I am sending it back for a refund.

I think its great that I come here for help and all anyone can do is yell at me saying I have the wrong one, when the one that is being thrown in my face is from a 5.4 that WILL NOT work on my truck. And Im the one thats the dumbass...

For all the words of encouragement, thanks a lot! It helped when I was reinstalling the stocker last night. As for eveyone else, thanks for nothing.

Come on man, if the guy before you had to cut it up to get it to work, incorrectly, then it stands to reason it's the wrong part right?

If its not the wrong part, what's your reason for returning it? Are you sure its not the AF1 for an '04 Heritage? The pic you posted of the other member's AF1 sure looks like the AF1 I've posted below.

Now, is that the AF1 you have or not??

PS: I never called you a dumbass... no need to be a ****

There's an aggie joke waiting to happen in here somewhere.
Good luck with the AF1...hope you get it sorted out. I love mine, and except for that small 7/16 bolt....it would have been painless to install.

Go Tech!

No, that is not the one I have. And, I never said that anyone here called me a dumbass. I proudly gave myself that title. But it appears that you are calling me a ****. And why shouldnt I be? No one seems to belive me and not many seem to want to help. So I am going to be a bit on the grumpy side. And I tend to believe the maker of the product vs a distributor as far as pics of the product are concerned.

But, I do concede to the similarities of the intake you have pictured above vs the one from the Af1 website.

Now for an update.

I have contacted customer service at AF1. Spoke to a guy named Everett. Nice fella. He agreed that I indeed did have the correct kit. However, I am missing the venturi adapter. I have all missing parts on order, as well as a new filter to replace the one that was cut up from the previous owner. Everything should be here by next Tuesday and i will have pics then.
