What was the point of your post? The guy wants a bull bar, be it for looks, functionality or what have you. He also wants to retain the tow hooks. He was wondering if anyone had any suggestions and your advice is try out a front hitch?????

Uhm....thanks?

Because with a front hitch you could easily use a reciever mounted tow hook or D shackle that would function exactly like the factory tow hooks. Different means to the same end.

Yes, I'm pretty sure most are aware of how one could utilize a front mount hitch, but you can't have a front hitch AND a Bull Bar. But it's pretty POINTLESS to offer alternatives when the guy has ALREADY purchased the bull bar. The guy wants a Bull Bar. Maybe he likes the looks, maybe he wants lights on it. Maybe both.

He's looking for suggestions on how to integrate tow hooks with an already purchased Bull Bar.

Again....Uhm Thanks.

PS: I'm going to feel real stupid if you CAN install a front hitch and a bull bar at the same time.....but if you could, it seems like an expensive solution.

So how much does that front receiver cost? That would be an "ideal" solution, provided it isn't too costly. Would it present any sort of ground clearence issue for a non-lifted 4x4?

:o :o :o
Do the mounting tabs for the hitch go in between the Bull bar and the frame or does the bull bar go between the hitch and frame? I found one for $130 at
http://www.drawtite-hitches.com/fron..._main.htm#Ford

Not a bad price at all considering the trouble/time to get the original tow hooks to work!

The point was it's not practical to have a tow hook on a bracket.. and it probably wouldn't fit without having to cut the valence. So at the same time as using a bull bar you can mount a front hitch and it be a strong tow point.

"UHM" Your welcome

it mounts to the inside of the frame rails behind the brackets for the bullbar, it takes about 20min. to install ill try and snap some pics of it tommorrow.
