Removing sunglass holder/console

Anyone know how the non roof rail sunglass holder on the roof liner can be removed? I took a quick look and I'm guessing it just gets pulled straight, but I don't want to make a mess. I'm thinking of adding a Homelink module inside the mostly useless opening. I like that spot since it will be mostly hidden up there, but I'll need to pull it off to run the wires.

It snaps in. Mine was not snapped in all the way from the factory. I pushed it up and snapped it in.

The reverse should remove it.

That is correct, i pulled mine to do a custom fiberglass full length one.

It simply pops down, but requires a bit of effort from your fingertips.

I found it easier to start at the rear of it and slowly pry loose, as the front has the harness for the maplights.

good luck on your project and post pics!
