The pigtail that comes with the trailer tow instructions, plugs in under the dash :

These can be had after market, maybe Napa ?? I think others that did not get it online, got them from a U-Haul or DrawT dealer.
http://www.brakecontroller.com/ shows them on the right hand side of the page. They also have OEM to Prodigy and Primus direct pigtails, if you have that type of controller.

The other item that might not be installed is the full ISO relay for the Trailer Tow Battery charge ckt.:

Why does my pigtail harness included with the truck not fit that light grey 6 pin plug? Am I 'special' cause I can't get it in the hole? It's a 6 pin, mines a 6 pin. It's right under the steering column right, not attached to the firewall but to the actual knee brace where your knees would impact in a crash, drivers side.

So the pigtail that was in the baggie along with the relay for your trailer brake setup doesn't match the plug beneath the column? In that case, 'yes'... you may be special. Very weird.

I have the Prodigy installed on my truck and went ahead and sprung for the Prodigy pigtail so that everything was 100% plug and play - no splicing.

I think mine is attached to the kneeplate just above the OBD plug. It was grey and rectangle. I had to solder the pigtail wires to the pigtail that was supplied with my Primus. It should fit, try turning it 180, if i remember right it did go in really tight. If you are soldering pigtail to pigtail the colors may or may not match up, be sure to follow the instructions supplied with your controller.

My 06 XLT came with the pigtail and I think a relay in the truck when I bought it.

How much is the Prodigy controller? I need to look into getting set up to tow stuff bigger than my bike trailer.

For those that don't know how trailer brakes work, they are engaged by electromagnets on the trailers axles, the controller translates the amount of pressure in the trucks hydraulics into electrical energy that is sent back to the trailer thru the 7 pin connector. The controller can be adjusted to balance the braking force to the load, and has a manual activation, usually by a slide switch to make the trailer brakes engage without having to tap the trucks brakes. A great feature when things get hairy.
