Hey boys, it's good to see the truth about speeding, and the darn title says it all when it comes to speeding, it's right there. I have a teenage driving daughter, and when your time comes as a parent your tune will change, trust me. Happy trucking.

Exclamation

I'm not condoning speeding. Not at all.

I'm just saying that this isn't the place to come shoot off your 2 cents about the subject. the guy had a serious TECHNICAL question about his TRUCK, NOT his personal character.

If he starts a thread about whether or not he should drive 115pmh, feel free to share your opinions there.

but OFF TOPIC jabs at people only waste server space and make it harder for people to find the information they need when using the search function

Well josiah, it might have been that your transsmission fluid overheated a little, once your tranny fluid reaches a certain temp i think its around 175 or so it will set off the sensor to set off that light. If you didnt feel and clunk or slipping I wouldn't be too worried about it. Personally after that happened I would be careful about getting up to that speed because it may not have directly damaged your tranny but im sure it did some sort of damage. These trucks just arent built to go that fast thats why they have a "Rev Limiter" its to protect the stock components because they are not designed to go over that RPM and same with the speed limiter. I'm not saying that doing it will kill your truck but it puts added stress and wear on drivetrain components.

I've deleted both of my responses as to not take up precious server space to try and share information that may have effect on the way some individuals think. If even one person who may have read those responses stopped and thought about it for one minute, it would have made posting OFF topic completely justifiable. Now, please feel free to gamble with your life. I just pray to god you never have to deal with the consequences that come about with these gambles.

P.S. Were you on the mud grapplers when you got up that fast? I've been deathly afraid of getting my truck over 90 with these tires on here. How did they handle?

I don't think its 175, I'm almost certain that sensor goes off around 230.

It's pointless to try and discuss such situations with kids, they just don't care.

I'm aware of that, but my kids listen, these don't, they know everything.

Again, for the "old folks" who must've forgotten to put on their glasses: I DO NOT CONDONE SPEEDING.

YOU ARE ENTIRELY MISSING MY POINT. This board is PLAGUED with people starting off-topic rants because they don't agree with something. If we want your opinion, we'll ask for it!

Newsflash: This is NOT a forum dedicated to the advancement of the quality of living in America- it's for helping people fix, fix-up, and enjoy their trucks.

If someone posts about some STUPID and dangerous event that they experienced that has led to their TRUCK RELATED question, they aren't going to give a hoot about the ear full of criticism you are going to dump on them. ESPECIALLY since most of you do it in such a negative way.

MY ONLY POINT is that you are wasting your time trying to convince those who are talking about already doing dangerous stuff to stop doing it for reasons X, Y, and Z.

AND, you are making the search function USELESS because topics never get answered, creating the need for endless newbies to give up on the search function and post the same stupid things 500 times more.

Great, we get it, speeding in massive excess is REALLY dangerous and careless. I'm with you on that! But again, that's NOT the point of this topic!!!

Talk about wasting bandwidth with ranting. My so called bandwidth-wasting word count is far less than yours as can be seen easily. So take a huff of your inhaler and chill.
