Transmission Malfunction @ 115mph
I have hit 120+ several times and have never thrown any codes. And my truck feels fine going that speed. Its so funny when people are with me and they are like how fast are we going then they are like i didn't think a truck could go that fast.
Haha I am only 22 but I prefer to go fast in my mustang since it has the brakes for it and way more motor! I went 110 in my old truck (98 scab) and 100 in this one (05 scab). I mod for the power... not top speed really. I agree with the too loud too old thing though...gotta love the v8 sound being floored
I don't know how fast I was going, but I passed a car that was doing 125 on the freeway down in Vegas. I'd let him pass by and would mash it and fly by him again. I'd have to estimate based on his speed and by the RPM's still rising that I was up and around 140-145mph. No tranny malfunction lights. Hopefully it was just a warning and you won't see it again.
I am not "young" but not really what I would consider "old". (mid 30s) I have been a motor-head my whole life and now I am a engineer by profession and have even worked a bit in the automotive industry. I admit there are tons of things I did when I was younger in all types of automobiles that I sure would not do today. I also know that I was lucky and you guys are lucky as well. To be regularly going those speeds on the public roads (and idiot public drivers) are rolling the dice. Some simple facts are that these trucks are heavy, tall and not even close to aerodynamic. The suspension, brakes, the tires are all under designed to be react and stay in control at those speeds. What causes big problems is the inability react to a situation safety. You can drive at those speeds everyday for a long time and get away with it, but all it takes is one time and the simple fact is the trucks do not allow you the control to safety react. I hope you do it away from me , my family and other innocent people. I firmly believe and support it is your right to mod your vehicles and drive them however you choose , I just hope you use enough judgment that if something goes wrong the only ones harmed is those who make the consensus decision to drive that fast. I have a really good friend that killed his best friend doing a speed run on a public roadway....I just his luck ran out that day. The great majority of the time something bad happens, even at that speed it is caused by something )or someone) not in the vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. My $0.02.

amen.
Seeing where topics like this go really makes you wonder if people EVEr read the original topic?
He asked a question about an error code, he didn't ask for "the law" or Tom **** and Harry to lecture him on how fast he should drive.
We all know driving that fast is dangerous- thanks for the newsflash.
Do you actually think you are going to stop people from speeding by posting OFF-TOPIC here?
Please....

Do you think it could of been due to the transmission being too hot?
Damn you're on the ball tonight, you keep beating me to it every time!
