Snuglid SL ???s

Anyone know a better price than 1149 plus 149 for keyless and free shipping??? Ther are no dealers within 500 miles and I'm not afraid of slapping it on myself, but that seems to be a "installed" price with hidden shipping.

Any rubbing issues at the front of the lid on the bedsides? I know the ARE LSII is a little flared so this doesn't occur, and the LSX has a popup then tilt feature to avoid it...but I'm not a big fan of those lids...seems like the SL would rub but I never heard of any complaints.

Does keyless unlocking the lid also "pop" it like a trunk? Does it pop up enough to lower the tailgate without having to raise the lid?

Is the tag (advertisement) on the back panel removable?

Can anyone spare a quarter?

Any tips on how to hide this from my gf???

The best way to hide something like this from a significant other is to pay for it with cash or a money order so that there is no paper trail. Then have it shipped to your house and make sure that you are there and she is too when it is delivered. Then when it comes in, and you unwrap it, act totally suprised and hug her and thank her over and over. Tell her its EXACTLY what you wanted and how lucky you are to have someone like her that does nice things like that for you. She will be so busy taking the credit for it she wont worry about who bought or where it came from.

Ive had mine on over 8 months and have had no problem with mine rubbing at all. The keyless entry does just enough to get the lid to unlock its a heavy lid so youll have to raise it some to let the tailgate down. The snuglid badge on the back comes off very easy. I also didnt live close to any dealers and had to have mine shipped I think even with the coupon for 50.00 off mine was still about 1200.00 plus it was two hundred to ship it. Mine came from Mid America truck tops and they use Roadway to ship and they will not deliver to a residence only to a business or to a Roadway depo.

Do you mind taking a couple pics of that F2 and letting us know what you paid? That is quite possibly my fav tonneau, good taste.

That's not a bad idea, but would never work here. I'd end up answering the door someday to find $2000 worth of shoes and clothes and her flailing her arms and doing a high school girlie dance. I told her about your idea and she got a good laugh then gave me a stern look. It's gonna cost me at least a nice dinner.

Mid America was the place that gave me the quote and a deadline of tomorrow on the free shipping. I'm having a hard time passing up a free $150 shipping.

How's the coupon deal work...I gotta check that out.

Hi Scorpio,
I can't get a better but I can anaswer your questions.

No rubbing issues for me.

Yes it does pop like a trunk and you can open the tailgate without lifting the lid.

Yes the tag is removable, I remove it the first day. It is adhesive only, no rivets.

The only thing I don't like is the power connection on the left side. Our fuse box is on the right side. Made for some fancy wiring.

Enjoy.

You just need some "scene control" instead of trying to hide it from your g/f.

Pulled the trigger today, gave up trying to find it cheaper since there's only a handful of distributors. Now I gotta wait 3-4 weeks for delivery. The gf is ok with it all, we're going to see if my Extang Full Tilt will even come close to fitting her 00 which I highly doubt. If it doesn't fit, I'll have to try and sell it to get her some kind soft cover. I'll post some pics in a month or so and may toss the Extang into the classifieds soon.

According to Snugtop when this lid is properly installed the tailgate should not come down. FYI.

I've had mine on for over a year now and have had no problems except freezing up issues with the key hole during winter. I wish I would of gotten the auto pop lock, but decided against it because I thought they were asking too much for a little actuator and some wire. That would help save the top of the lid from scratches caused by the rest of the keys on the key chain.

No rubbing at all and the carpet on the inside of the lid matches up great with the color on the bed rugs.
