Homelink install
Homelink install
Well I finally got my homelink off ebay for 40.00 and after careful consideration this is where I decided to put it. What do you think? Buy the way this was also not the easiest mod I've done.[IMG]

Looks great.
I just bought one off of ebay for $25.00, was going to put in the sunvisor but after seeing yours I think I'll put it just ahead of the dome light and sun roof controls. Sounds like just a two wire install correct ?
Are those openers compatible with rolling code door openers?? Several of the ones I saw on ebay for cheap weren't. The only one I saw that said it was rolling code compatible was $165 for the "buy it now" price.
Thanks. And yes it is rolling code compatible. Not to bad to program. I programed the 1st and 2nd buttons for the garage of course and the third I programmed to pop my Snugtop lid since I ordered it with remote opener. Thats my favorite one. This Homelink came out of a 02 Expy. And yes its just two wires (hot and ground). I just tapped into my dome light harness.
Because the console is thicker in some places making it hard to get the homelink unit to set level. And I was using a dremel tool to cut down the plastic so I had to just do a little and check it and then do a little more and check it again to make sure I didnt burn through the plastic. It was just very tiedious.

^if installing in the overhead dome light, you just tap into the dome light wires. That's what I did. I believe the positive lead is the green wire with an orange stripe and the negative lead the black wire furthest from the green/orange stiped wire, or I think any of the black wires will work for the ground. You can double check with a meter or test light.
