remote start/fusion key

well this might not be meant for this webpage but it all works togethers........i programed a 3 button fusion key to my truck last week and it works great......i also bought 2 4-button keys for my wifes explorer.....i have the remotes working, even the trunk button opens the back hatch, but i cant get it to program to start the truck......

so i was thinking........can you buy just the "pats" thing that goes with the remote starts?.....if i can, then i just install it and the fusion key will work her truck...........

do you think it would work?

thankssss

Very doubtful from everything I've heard the frequencies are different. But good luck with it.

-EDIT-
I don't think the pats has anything to do with the frequency with the remote start system, even if it's oem.

the Pats bypass kit is an antenna ring that wraps around the ignition cylinder and plugs into the remote starter brain unit. I guess you can say it "acts" like a key is there in order to remote start the truck. You have to program it with both original master keys. I don't think it will help you in your case. Do you have both original master keys for the Explorer?

Right, but the remote starter module is seperate from it. The bypass will allow you to start the car without the key but has nothing to do with the transmitters.

Scratch my last post. I for some reason was thinking you were trying to make the remote part of the key to work with a remote starter :o You did say the key to the mountaineer looked the same as the key to your truck didn't you. How many keys do you have that are already programmed to it. Try a different set of two. I have 7 programmed keys to my truck, I couldn't use the same two keys to do them all.

Not that this will give you anymore help but, I still had to program my key when I got it. The Pats bypass for the Viper remote starter in my truck didn't allow the unprogrammed key start it.

i am doing the process in my manual, but the anti-theft light blinks and it wont start the truck.....the manual says to repeat the steps or take it to the dealer for programing......i really dont want to take it in b/c they will charge the heck out of me........but it should work......to what i have found out.....the 06 f150 and 06 explorer and 06 fusion has the same pats....i dont understand why it wont.....both keys wont program (i have one for me and one for her)......i am just bumfazeled....

I know this may be a dumb question but here goes. Labman you say you purchased a Fusion key for your F150? Are you just trying to use this key to utilize the remote start, or are you actually able to put the key into the ignition and turn the truck on that way?

it has nothing to do with the remote start...i was just asking a question for the remote start.....and yes the key runs my f150.........my question is why cant i get one to work in my wifes explorer.......the f150, explorer, and fusion have the same key and pats in them...but i cant get it to work in the explorer......

one more question...........does the pats have to be in the key that starts the vehicle........or do you think i can cut out a programmed pats and place it somewhere near the ignition column and still start the vehicle with the fusion key?...............i am trying.........
