If your unit was recently manufactured, I would not, since you have a 2005. If you had a late 2006 truck, I would say yes. The recent updates were for the newer truck issues and codes.

Plugged the edge in and drove a little up the rode and all i have got to say is wow. I tried level one at first and noticed firmer shift points and was pleased. Bumped it up to level two and adjusted the gear ratio and tire size and the difference was night and day.

Now for the downloadable software. I went to the following site:
https://local.edgeproducts.com/edge/..._download.html

when i go to click download the software, the page does not come up. Is there a different page i need to go to or different route?

I wouldnt update. By what I could see the latest updates were specific to those with 4.6L engines. I am running v20 on the tuner and everything is working great. Actually better than great. Adjusted the idle setting today and now she runs real smooth at stops. And I've been getting great gas mileage on Lvl 3. Lots of power and 18.6 average mpg on 93 octane fuel. Sure its .20 more expensive than 87 octane but I feel that its well worth it for improved performance.

BTW I never even tried anything other than level 3. Right out of the box I set it for my larger tires, proper gear ratio, took off the speed limiter, and level 3. Havent looked back since. Over 6000 miles since install without a hint of problem.

Enjoy your new toy.

I got my Edge tuesday. Didn't update. Just checked and it was manufactored on 10-2006. Installed it today, adjusted the tire size, put it on level three, changed the background to red, and set it up for rpms, mph, impg, and ampg and drove it to the gas station. When I ordered the edge I filled up with 93, had it down to 1/2 a tank and topped off this evening. Truck runs great, and I love the edge!

My flowmaster original 40 series muffler came in today, so if I get rained out tomorrow I'll have new exhausts on. IF by some miracle it don't rain, I guess I'll have to wait till friday.

Just as soon as the winter starts going away in march I'm going to take my truck and have my skyjacker 3" installed and order my 33 mud grapplers and moto metal 951 20's. Can't wait for that.

But so far this performance stuff is fun to install....air intake/edge and now exhaust. Lovin it.

Hey Ox... what did you change your idle to. Mine seems like it is really low. The truck will not move when in gear sitting at a light with the brake off. I actually have to give it gas to make it move. It is almost to the point of being like an electric motor. Thanks in advance!

When I go to Idle RPM on my Edge it goes in increments all the way to 300. Does this sound right? The way I am seeing it is that it is +whatever the RPM is. So if the RPM is 600 and you set the Edge to 200 you would have 800. Am I correct?

as I recall, you keep on the arrow past the 300 and it keeps going till you get to 800

I'll have to check it out.... thanks for the info. It was set on 0. It ran about 600 in park and about 585 in gear. It is low! Drive thru's make me nuts especially if the ground isn't flat! Even if the ground is flat I still have to give it gas to move!

someone from Edge recommended 750 to 1000. I think 800 is real good. You are too low.
