You can have the shifts any way you want them. You have the option to leave them alone or firm them up. You can set how soon you want it to shift also. I run mine on level 2 all the time. When I am not towing I firm them way up.... like +4 or 5. When I am towing I return them to stock to lessen the strian on the drivetrain.

I just went and checked it out. I can only go to 300 max. I set it at 250 and at idle in park I am sitting right at 875. In Drive I am sitting at 800. The truck does what it's supposed to do now.... If I let off the brakes it will roll foward with no gas. This is going to be a great help when backing up to my camper and pulling into the garage! I have 2" to play with and it really sucks having to drive with 2 feet! Thanks for the info! I also had a ping just off idle that is gone now. I think it was borderline stalling before. It runs great now. Pinging is gone and all is well!

Hey the4by4freek,

I adjusted my idle to 120. What the edge allows you to do is add to the current idle setting. For example, if my idle was already 585rpm then +120 and now it idles at 705-ish. The max that you can "up" the idle is 300rpm. So now with the truck in gear and my foot on the break and Air Conditioner off my truck has lost that rumble-shake and better yet my throttle response has improved a bit.

Hope this helps,

Ox

OX,

Thanks for the help! Thats what I was figuring when I saw that it only went up to 300. I bumped it to 200 and my idle is right at 800 in park and 750 in gear. My off idle pinging is gone! I think it was borderline stall before thats why I was getting the ping.

As far as getting an Edge for Christmas... I would definately unwrap it and program the truck. I would then re-wrap and put it back under the tree! THis way you can drive the truck tuned for the weekend!

I just bought myself one for Christmas. When it showed up via UPS the wife said "what's in the box" and I said something for the truck. I never wrap presents to myself, that way I can just use them right away!

Thats what I'm talking about. Hell, half the time when I have boxes waiting on me, I get home from work and I dont even change out of my "good clothes". I'm out the door to turn a wrench. Besides, that's why they make spot remover, right?

So, HiVoltage14.4, tonite is your chance. While everyone is sound asleep go program your truck. Listen to the4by4freek. He sounds sensible. Go on man, do it. Why wait?

I never let anyone buy anything for my truck either! I always get it in the mail and install it immediately! When I purchased my Edge the UPS driver showed up at 4:00. I had already left for work. I got a call from my wife saying that it had come in. I got out of work at 3:00AM, got home at 3:30 and by 4:00AM the edge was installed! It was fun testing it out with no one else on the road! I'd say open it, program your truck and re-wrap it! I know I wouldn't be able to wait!

Make sure you enter your correct tire size and gear ratio. It will not act right without it!

You'll love the edge.....I have already got the skyjacker 3" but I have considered selling it to get the rancho quick lift setup. It's hard to tell really, I have till march to figure it out.
