The F-150 is gone...

Traded it off, got a little car (Sentra SE-R Spec V). No, I am not kidding. No I don't care what anyone else thinks. I am just posting this because I wanted to change my "vehicle" and I didn't want everyone asking questions. Best part is, payment went down $95 a month and insurance went down another $20. I'll take an extra $115 and 26mpg in town. Oh yeah, 175hp and a 6 speed manual too. Very fun to drive. Works for me!

EDIT: I haven't given up on Ford either, I will be picking up a diesel powered F150 when Ford finally makes it. I just wasn't happy with the mpg mainly, especially with a 20 mile drive to work.

The car kinda looks like this:

Pics to come.

I did kind of the same thing. Traded the truck for a Ford 500. Wife liked it, I ended up with her car. A Chevy Equinox. Long story short, I am back into a truck again!

Then why post?

IMO, if you can't afford the < 3 gallons per day of gas to drive 40 miles, you probably should not have a truck in the first place...especially a new one.

Just think of how many gallons of gas you could have purchased for the depreciation hit you took for trading such a new vehicle. Isn't this like your third vehicle in a year or something? Dude, you change vehicles more often than some people change underwear! Gas costs are the least of your worries.

Oh well...have fun and enjoy your new ride...it's always fun to get something new. Just don't try to rationalize it by complaining about gas mileage...just say you were tired of your truck and wanted something new.

I would hope the payments dropped by 90 bucks, you have about half the vehicle you had before. I will gladly pay the price of a larger vehicle at the pump so me and my loved ones are safe behind the wheel if ever in an accident with a large SUV or truck.

Thats basically it. The truck did nothing for me, anymore. Oh, and I wasn't in too bad a position on the truck, got them to give me just $500 shy of what I owed so that's good. Hardly any negative equity at all...

Anyway, yeah. It's a pretty cool little car but I'll keep it MAX a year and then get something else. I've had 9 vehicles since 2004, and being back in the car business, I dont think thats going to change anytime soon.

Also, I could afford the gas for the truck no problem. It's just that my son is due any day now and I'm gonna need a LOT of money for diapers too.

My wife has an '06 Accord, with 8 airbags. She and my child will be just fine. I could care less about me though.

Honestly, I took all that into account and this little car's got a 5-star safety rating too, not bad. At any rate, whatever's done is done and I like the car.

I went through a phase where I sold my truck for a Mustang GT. Loved the car!

However, I missed being above most vehicles on the road. in the mustang, I could not see around anything. Just found that I like hunting and camping again and the car is not what I call a 'multi-tasker'. Thus the reason I went out and got a truck again. Yes, that is me grinning from ear to ear!

It's not just a pahse for me, it's an illness. I usually go truck, car, truck, car. I was overdue for a "car" purchase. By the way I leased this one, like several before it. I like how I can be doing 50mph down the street, drop it down into third gear and mash the go pedal and it'll just fly. After four (4) 2004+ F-150's, this car feels like a freaking rocketship. But, it's like I said. I'll keep it for a maximum of one year and then get something else. That's the way it goes for me. Who knows, maybe I'll get a Titan?!

Now I am a troll!

Friends don't let friends drive Titans or any other vehicle/truck that's not a Ford!

It's funny how people rationalize their impulse buying. People have attention spans of a 2 year old nowadays. You'd think if you'd save money by sticking to one vehicle thats based on real needs that you wouldn't have to worry about gas prices and money for diapers. OH WELL! I guess someday someone will ask themselves "Where did all my money go? What do I have to show for it now?".

Good luck!

If you feel good about having only a little negative equity in the truck and buy a new car, you have a lot of negative equity now. If you have a new baby due anytime, you're in for a rude awakening if you plan on getting another new vehicle next year.

LMAO that car is far from fast. I had an 03 Cobra with 500HP before my truck, now that car would fly. The truck is a pig and will never be fast, but thats ok i didnt buy it to go fast. I just hate people that get slow *** imports and think they are fast, those people have never been in a truly fast car. But congrats on hellping the japs economy instead of americas.
