In my Mazda3 I simply had to plug a wire/harness into a slot in the back of the radio which led to the P.I.E. adapter and then to the Ipod - no splicing, no power adapters and it worked great. Isn't there a solution like that for the Ford F150?

Power

I need to hard wire in my XM unit. I'm interested in where you tapped power for your powerport in the dash. I plan to do the same, just not sure the best place to get switched power. I would greatly appreciate any tips you have on that. Thanks!

What about a double din tv? My iPod is hooked to it and I keep it in the glove box.

damn i want one of those ipods in 30 gig.

i like the setup a lot
except for the way the panel has a gap in it
just get a really big drill bit big enough for the wire to go through and drill a hole in the panel so the gap isnt there.

Just tap it directly into the power cables for your powerpoint that is already in the dash.....

The gap is not near as big in reality as it appears in the pics......

Is there a way to run the power cable thru the vent that is behind the mount?

This is what I just bought to hook up my sirius radio(has to be a new 5v radio) works for xm also eliminates the need for a cigarette lighter adapter for the 5v connection

Nice install.

I agree with this mindset...crazy it is but I just hate a modded look. The Alpine screen model looks good but I cant use that sort of setup because of my rear DVD setup.

The only thing I dont really is that thick cable. I'd like to see it more concealed but given the constraints you did a nice job. I would have wanted to try and strip off the jacket and maybe fee the wires themselves through but that is a gamble with a pretty expensive cable.

Nice Job!

Yeah, some people can't percieve sarcasm..

I didn't know anyone owned tapes. I have not seen them in stores in years. I threw the last of mine out in 2000.
