Nope!

some may have a limited slip differential which is a mechanical (not electronic) gear that adds traction to the second rear tire if the first one slips.

if you regeared, you probably have increased torque to the wheels, so you spin sooner. if you didnt have LS before, you are gonna want it now.

to answer your first question, no
to answer your second question, no

yeah i cant believe ford didnt offer traction control

i spin like crazy all the time, and theres not much i can do about it...

my dad had traction control on his old 95 vette. that thing did better in the snow than most cars!

i wish there was like an aftermarket kit available or something.

I'm looking at several new 2006 150's this week (great deals), and some of them have Traction Control as a factory installed option. There is a button next to the cigarette lighter that turns if off.

I think it was $195 on the sticker.

It's actually called Traction Assist. Only available on 2006+ 2wd F-150's. Mostly crew cab Lariats, IIRC.

When is this useful? Off road? I have found having limited slip in wet weather is worse than keeping the power off of one tire. Taking a corner with too much throttle causes both tires to lose traction with limited slip. With a standard rear end, you would have one tire that is at least making solid contact.

If you are spinning in snow/ice/sand take off in second gear.
That limits the power, and limits the throttle to about half.
Great for sand and ice.

That's what it is for, unlike GM where the second gear position starts out in low, then goes to second. Ford starts out in second and stays there.

I have no problem accidently or purposely spining out with my 3.55 opens on wet pavement

My other 05 F150 didn't have limited slip and would kick out to the right when it slipped in the snow. My current 05 has a limited slip and kicks out to the left. I wasn't really impressed with it in 2WD when the roads were snow covered a couple weeks ago, but once I put it in 4HI it didn't feel the truck slipping around anymore.

wow thats great! im assuming that it would be possible to add it with the correct parts and modifications. now its time to see how feasible it would be...

and taking off in second helps, but sometimes i still spin in second from a take off on wet roads...
