Cabin Filter

Do we have a cabin air filter inside the cab? My old '99 Silverado had one & it was crazy what it could catch. It's just to cold for me to go out and get the owners manual. Or I'm just to lazy

Some people say no, some people say yes. I've never gotten a definitive answer on this.

The previous version 97-03 and 04 heritage had the option for a cabin filter. The 04 up does not.

Seems to me like you know your stuff! I'll take that as a definitive answer.

This was asked a while ago in a previous thread. I believe the BEST response was as follows. Besides the one in the engine compartment, the only other air filter, is your underwear! Cracks me up.

There has been some confusion, I think because in the owners manual they list an idiot light for the passenger air filter. I think what they do is put all the possible idiot lights they have in the manual, whether it is available or not. I do remember there was an option on my 01 for the cabin air filter. Can't remember whether it was only in specific models, but you had to remove the front cowl cover at the base of the windshield I believe to get to it.

If that is the case, then what you need is a bigger cork.
