Just ordered 2 38'' white led strips. They better be good RP.............

Give a quck detail of how you wired it...IE...wire from fuse to switch, switch to one light, to the next all around the truck? Or does each one need its own feed from the switch?

Hot wire from fuse #37 (rear power point). Fuse in line in passenger side threshold wire loom. Ran wire along threshold and out the quarter-sized grommet on the passenger side rear (SCREW). Pushed hole in grommet with ice pick and fed wire through. Resealed grommet. Ran wire beneath truck in center frame to rear.

Ran hot wire up behind the driver's side tail light. Ran wire into bed through small existing hole (factory) that is located above and behind the tail light (hint: Remove light assembly and duck down... look up towards the rail cover). Hot wire to pin #1 on LED switch.

Ran another wire out the same hole behind the tail, beneath the rear bumper, over to the other side of the truck (ran in via the same hole behind the tail).

Ran ground wire (common for both). Grounded via tail light wiring ground (black wire).

Crimped power and ground wires respectively.

Click.

Light.

Whtat fuse did you guys put inline for this project? I need to add the fuse tomorrow. I found it quite annoying when I looked back at the oz site and now they're offering strips twice as long for only a little more.

PS. This is how to wire the switch to get the LED to stay on all the time if you have this switch.

How to hook up the LED switches: The black wire goes to ground, the red wire directly next to the black wire (this is the red wire in the
middle) goes to the circuit you are powering, and the other red wire on the end goes to your constant power source.

Nope I didn't mean which fuse to tap, but rather what type of fuse did you put inline on your power wire to protect the LEDs? Sorry I didn't type it clearly.

Hey RP, I have a factory wirung manual and I'm gonna hook up my bedlights to the rear cargo light. According to the manual the harness runs up thru the rear of the Right rear door. I'm going to try to tap into the wires at the base of the door. Its a 20 gauge wire, one is BK and the other is LB. It should be a always hot wire as long as the interior lights are on so there is no need for a seperate switch as it will work off the dome light switch. Theres is also a grommet that runs thru the rear of the cab at that location, (same grommet that I used for the rear tailgate lock). I'll let you know if this works but I think you already have yours done.

Thanks to everyone on this thread for all the great information.

Yep... I considered that setup. I just didn't want to be limited by the dome light delay (which is only like 30 seconds). Mine's switched off of constant power and run out through the same grommet you mentioned.

Thanks though!
