My truck is getting a new engine due to the injector problem. While having the truck for two days knowing about the injector problem the gas smell was very strong. Since yours is a 2005 I would be surprised if it didn't have something to do with a stuck injector.

What are the symptoms of injector problem and why does it require a new engine?

Well, when I took it in for the injector problem the first time, it had a rough idle and was hard to start at times. And if the injector was stuck in the open position, I'm sure I'd have a rough idle or smoking. I'm not having any of these symptoms this time which is why I'm thinking a bad o-ring. I checked for a loose spark plug this past weekend. None seemed to be loose.

Does anyone think that if I changed the injector O-rings myself it would void the extended warranty that Ford issued on them for the bad injector problem?
