Turn off horn honk when OEM alarm is armed/disarmed?

I have a 2005 SCREW with the OEM alarm. Is there a way to keep the alarm working yet disable that honk confirmation everytime I arm or disarm the truck? Thanks.

Hi.

Sure - to arm, just hit the button once, not twice. Does exactly the same thing, but no honk.

They do not honk when disarming, at least mine doesn't. Good thing too, as that would drive me nuts.

Cheers
Bubba

What OEM alarm?

The honk is just to let you know that your doors are in fact locked, if you hit the button twice.

As far as I know, there is no alarm. Unless you added an aftermarket system.

Yes, there is an OEM alarm on my King Ranch. And when I hit the button once to lock, the horn sounds, when unlocking it honks twice.

Well then, maybe on the KR you have an alarm.

But for the rest of us non-KR owners, we do not have an alarm from factory.

Thats why they put microchips in our keys.

Maybe someone else who owns a KR can help you out.

You can have those "confirmation" honks turned off ... but the dealership alarm tech is going to have to do it. I had mine done last year and love it!

Well maybe they installed it before it was bought. Hmm. I'll dig into it.
