Tire-Wheel-Lift combo for my truck
Howdy fellas,
I recently picked up a 2004 F150 Lariat 4x4. I'm not wasting much time. I want to lift it a tad and put some tires and wheels on it. The truck is a driver so fuel econ is a consideration.
I'm thinking no bigger than 35in tires and maybe just a leveling kit. My buddy has BFG AT KO 315s on his Dodge 2500 and they look pretty good... I'm also considering the Toyo Open country in 35s. Would those rub on my truck? The wheels I'm not sure about yet. I'm a mustang guy, and I've had dodge trucks but this is my first ford to lift.
Here she is in a ****ty dealer photo. I got a steal on this truck and it doesn't have a single scratch on it!

Thanks,
Jeremy

They say with a leveling kit you can run 35''s but im sure you would rub a little. i have 31'' tires and and going with a 33'' mud tire. Probably the mickey thompson baja mtz. I dont want to worry about rubbing when i hit a bump or turn. O YEA I ALSO HAVE A 2.5 ICH LEVELING KIT.
Nice truck you got there.
I'm currently running the toyo OC AT and have 12k miles on them; They are a great AT tire.
Here's what Wandell (the resident wheel/tire guru) has to say.

i ran 33" toyo OC mt's with the leveling kit before i went to the pro comps, and you have little to no rubbing with that setup
if you do aftermarket wheels and 35's, you either a) need to stay near 5.5" backspacing to prevent more rubbing, or b) full suspension lift
i have a 2.5" leveling kit and a 3"body lift on 33" mickey thompson mtx...as soon as i figure out how to post pics i will show it to u...
