Keep your cats and true duals with glass-packs.

I've got the Roush Off-Road exhaust and I had my rear 2 cats cut out. It's pretty loud, but not as loud as you'd expect. I have about decided that you just can't get the sound out of these engines like you can in other trucks.

Dynomax Bullet, you can watch the video in my sig (drivers window is down), that was before i gutted my precats. Its somewhat louder now

So id suggest remove as many cats as you feel comfortable doing, X pipe, then two bullets (si/so) dumped before rear axle.

This was before my cats were removed...it's pretty loud especially at WOT and I'm pleased with the sound. I was very disappointed until I finally let someone else drive my truck and she sounds really good outside the cab...inside it is a bit quiet. Still doesn't sound like a chevy.

Here is an old clip of how it sounded very early on (the flowmaster, right after removing my magnaflow). I am running against a near stock Fx4 Supercab.

I am planning on removing my rear two cats as well... how did you guys go about doing it? Just cut them out and weld pipes in place? did a muffler shop do it? Did you need to remove the pipes from the truck?

I have the SISO magnaflow at this time and its just not loud enough for me.... Thinking of going dual flowmaters.... just dont want the drone....

I have the quiter version from bassani, but the guy that I ordered mine from had true duals on his lightening and had the louder freer flowing exhaust system on it. It is loud as hell and sounds awesome. Expensive though. He has the full system includig headers, x-pipe and duals out the factory side location. He said about $3000. Mine was $375 for catback with aluminum and stainless. $475 for the full stainless.

How about this. .

Cut the rear cats, true duals into two Flowmaster Originals, dumped. It'll be way louder and sound better!

Would an '06 with 5.4 have two sets of cats? Havent really poked around underneath (at least not at exhaust) but thought I read somewhere that they didnt run two sets of cats anymore?
