For the 2 wheel drive guys theres a 2" drop spindle coming out very shortly for our trucks from Belltech. Benefits would be no difference in steering or suspension geometry whatsoever and it can be combined with any other drop (control arms, springs) for a more drastic drop if desired.

I was wondering when the "don't lower a 4x4" comments would fly? I actually have lifted everything I have had in the past and since I did not buy this truck for offroading, I thought I would go for handling and looks. I bought the 4x4 for the WI winters and the FX4 package for the styling and center counsel. I am not going to "slam" it, just lower it a couple inches and level it a bit. I've seen lowered 4x4's (several members on this site) and I liked the looks alot as well as the idea of better handling and fuel milage. For the driving I do, a lift would just be a waste of money....(my opinion), but to each his own. Of course I could leave it stock..............nah. I think if an all wheel drive option, like the HD, had been availible when I bought my truck.....I would have seriously looked at that.

I'm another that will say, lift it or leave it. I'll give you one thing, it'll stand out, you don't see many lowered trucks in WI. I guess that kinda goes for lifted too though. Damn strict lift laws.

I have the Eibach 2/4 drop and I like it alot. I think its the perfect drop. not too low. I'm waiting for my new shocks to get here. The rear shocks are really compressed.

this is where i’m at right now but have never done it, was looking for a direct alternative with either more threads or a shorter inner rod but haven’t found anything, any recommendations?

Why not carefully cut the inner tie rods down and then re-thread the end?

I do it all the time on threaded rod using a tap and die set.

Ok, so I see this thread was started back in 2006 and it is now almost 2023, but I had to add my 2 cents for others like myself that read a lot of these old posts but do not contribute. My contribution is an update of DJM quality of product & service based on my experience.

I previously had a 2001 F150 Xtra cab that in 2003 I installed the DJM 2 drop control arms and 4 rear drop kit on. I loved it! The look, the handling and the ride and virtually no problems for over 100k miles!

Then in 2020 I bought a 2006 Lariat SCrew RWD and went with DJM again a few months back.. It was like night & day from the previous experience.. nothing but trouble from the getgo. DJM's customer service is so bad now I wouldn't give them a single star rating and I will NEVER buy from them again and I am typically very loyal to companies that treat me well. I could really go into more detail, but for those not ready to read a novel, I will give the short version.
If you really want to know details, send me an IM.

Let me just say that after the bad service, spending almost double for what the original "kit" cost, the quality was so bad that I was forced to remove both the front control arms & the rear flip kit for safety reasons, and had to spend the extra $ (that I had to borrow) to go back to stock because I had to have my truck (and I hate the height on this truck).
I really did like the quality & service of the previous DJM kit and why I am so disappointed that DJM would not even respond to my request to talk about replacements.
I suggest you think twice about going with DJM these days, for a company that supposedly takes pride in providing leading customer service, I found it to fail at every corner and I gave them MANY chances to keep me as a long time customer. I guess loyalty means nothing to DJM.
