Get some silverstar Bulbs for the fogs and the headlights.. It'll be $80 for both sets...
H13 Headlights
9005 or 9145 for fogs...

hen do a search for a thread on here that lets you run hi beams and fogs at the same time...

On a back road, click on the fogs and hi beams and watch night turn into day. I'm very happy with my headlight output now.

Do you have foglights? If so use them they help out alot. Despite your opinions, the newer F-150 has fairly decent headlight output compared to other domestic trucks expicially those of previous years. But I do agree that there is still not enough light. If you have the factory fogs, use them, if not, get some good SilverStars.
i agree with this, here is a very useful post i found a few months back... i know its a subaru forum but the post left an impression besides its got an excellent write up and some awesome pictures however i dont agree with his opinion on sylvania silver stars being bad bulbs (mine have been great) besides i have some kc's which light up 2 miles who needs bright headlights

Silverstars are good, but if I had to do it again I'd save the $40. Just noticed a very slight improvement over the stock H13's.

I also have the silverstars in my fogs and did the mod for the fogs with the high beems and it works great. Keeps everything lit up that you would normally lose when going to high beam. As far as that brite box the bulbs wouldn't last that long getting overheated by powering both filaments, and if it reduces the output to both filaments then whats the use. You could run a relay at each bulb feading them with a larger wire like 10gauge direct from the battery.

Anyway...

I went to VatoZone today and bought a set of Silverstars for $40+tax. If that does not work I may try the XtraVision. If not...I'm not ready to think about that yet.

Tanks fer all da hep, fellers.

I think the stock lights are pretty good. I had silverstars on my previous car and I don't think I will buy it again. The silverstars are only slightly brighter than stock.

Only thing I see wrong with silverstars is that they tend to burn out quicker. I have had them in my 06 for over 3 years and have gone through 2 sets of headlights and 3 bulbs in fogs. I drive every night for an hour from work. I contacted silvania and was told since they burn brighter they have less of a life compared to stock, but I like the way they light up the road.

It is, but only if you have the rectangular fogs. The newer round fogs don't have enough internal air space to dissapate the extra heat. This leads to fogged / melted lenses.

The newer Silverstar Untras pretty well solve that problem.

Unfortunately, no. I'm running a Hella bulbs in mine - both headlights and fogs. I thought they had them though because I had them in my 2005.

^ How so? A 2005 also uses an H13 base.

There is a thread kickin'; around here (or maybe a FAQ on the Sylvania site - can't remember, lol) that specifically stated Sylvania did not have, and was not planning, an H13 Ultra variant.

As for the reason - they never did disclose. Odd, that - it's a popular bulb - used in many, many more vehicles than just an F150 ...

Nevermind that - got a linky to some good Hella bulbs?

I like the Hellas, but they're not lasting either.
