Question for you guys with lifts

Ok I've read all the threads about the 6" or 8" lifts. I really love the look of the Rize. My question is truthfully how do they drive with a lift and 35 or 37 inch tires. These trucks are'nt exactly eat up with power to begin with. I have an x-cal II with Mike's tunes and that really helps. Are you guys re-gearing and if so to what? Does anyone here have the lift and the stock 3:73 gears? If so, how does it drive? Sorry for so many questions but if I'm going to spend 2500-3000 on a lift and another 2500 on tires and wheels then 1200 more for gears is getting a little crazy! Thanks in advance for any feedback.

I have a 6" lift with 35" tires and the stock 3.73LS gears and the only time
i notice the lack of acceleration is above 70 mph. When i drive down to massachusetts to get **** faced with friends i notice that in the left lane going up hills at 80ish it needs 4.10 or 4.56 gears. But if you drive at normal speeds not a problem. If you go with 8" and 37" tires then you need the gear change imo.

You dont notice a lack of acceleration between 70 and 80 i'd think that with 37" tires it would be sluggish. When you change gears i bet you notice a huge difference.

no most of the loss of power is right off the line and yeah i'm def looking forward to the gears they should make a huge diff. just have to wait a while for them.

I'd have my gears now but i had to help out my brother and it's taking him forever to pay me back the 3K he owes me.I call him up once a week to get a laugh at his current excuse, four months ago he was going to have it in a week.Well what are brothers for being a pain in the **** apparently.

Thank you very much for the reply. Thats the info I'm looking for. I would love to do the lift but don't want to be left with a dog. Mine runs pretty darn well with the x-cal and Magnaflow exhaust. My stock 3:73's have never had any of the clutch pack issues etc and I just hate to take them out. Your truck does look great with that lift by the way.

Allrsdup is right, the tires are a drag off the line and at top end (above 75mph) as well.

Ive got 35's(obviously) and the 3.73's with an edge and exhaust... I was considering regearing before the edge now that i have the edge I am completely satisfied with the performance of my truck... its deff. faster than it has ever been since I have owned it. So with the xcal 2 and 37's I think you will be satisfied but hey, get the lift and tires and see how ya feel. If you like it great save money, if not regear and be even happier.
