Exclamation Traction Bars for Lowered 2wd?

Hey guys, I have come to the conclusion that I am suffering from fairly severe axle hop. I do have a rear flip kit, and I have noticed it does NOT have shims.

I am trying to figure out the cheapest way to fix the problem. I believe I rear somewhere that adding shims should fix this?

and if not, does anyone know of any TRACTION BARs that would fit an application like mine? (2005 Lowered 2wd)

Here is a topic with the JLP Racing bars, but they fit a Lightning. From those pics it seems that 'type' of setup would fit and work on my truck as well.

some day i will, i have the coilovers to do it too, and some spare arms laying around

you could make your own traction bars, not too hard as long as you know how to weld

There was someone on here that built his own tractions bars and they turned out really good. The only thing that he did that I would change was he used pipe and I would use tubing.

at that rate, you don't even have to weld anything, you can make up a set of your own with parts from thornebecke bros. or grant customs.

I made a set that work excellent and are no lower than the shock mounts.

Check the Roadmaster RAS springs. I know it helped a lot with the wheel hop on my truck.

Exclamation

Altough I appreciate the comments and suggestions guys... I think most of you missed my KEY problem here... I have a REAR LEAF FLIP KIT... so no ordinary kit will fit, right?

And also, anyone know about the whole "shim" idea... does that really fix axle wrap?

yeah looks like you will need to make a custom kit unless if someone make a universal kit for axel over leaf setups

and i dont think a shim would fix it, the only thing it would help is that so your ujoint doesnt bind up when the axel does twist. btw what kind of flip do you have? the djm doesnt require shims, it is adjustable. and most others have the shim made into the flip kit

I have the Grounf Force 9933 kit. I fraking ordered the 9944 (2/4, new leafs rather than flip) but they were on national backorder so I got stuck with thew 2/5 flip kit. Man the hassle that has turned out to be...sigh.

and I checked...no shims whatsoever in my kit. And I think I heard somewhere that GF has now started including shims with their flip kits.

the only reason you would need shims is if your drive shaft and rear end make an angle, it should have no angle where the drive shaft meets the rearend like in this pic
