You might want to pull the fuse for the amp for a couple of days to see if that makes any difference to. the dealer will probably want any aftermarket items to be disconnected before bringing it in. At least if you do that, it will rule them out.

These trucks are very touchy when it comes to wiring.

im gonna go check right now, thanks
the lights are off, the led on the aftermarket alarm blinks every second abd the factory alarm led blinks like every two-three seconds. I just spoke to my dealer and im taking it to get the battery tested first thing wednesday morning.

I think I found the problem, I was going to go to autozone to get the battery tested and my truck wont start. I get out the battery charge pack and when i put the negative clamp on the terminal i noticed it was loose, as soon as i tighten it it started without needing to jumpstart. Thank you to all of yall that gave me suggestions and replying to this thread. Thanks alot.

I had/have the same problem

2005 XLT 4x4.

Believe it or not, if I leave my radar detector on overnight, the battery will die if it's cold out. This has happended several times, took it to Ford they would not replace it even though the battery lamp was glowing red instead of green.

The other morning, it did start (I'd left the detector on by mistake) but it was so dead the gauges did that rapid-jumping BS for a while until it charged back up.

I would take it back to the dealer and tell them you have had to jump start it several times and tell them to replace the battery. If not, then call Ford or find another dealer.

Same thing happened to my truck yesterday XM Radio was on and so was the radar detector.

I have a good one for you guys I work at a shop and we repair cars, lights trucks and different kinds of motor homes well this dude that bought a used2000 Monaco Dynasty diesel pusher had his 40ft motor home towed to our shop complaining that it would start. Let me paint the scenario here for ya'll the tow truck was as big as the coach itself and they automatically charge 100 bucks to send the tow truck out. Well the shop manager checked over the batteries and wiggled the cables started the coach and low and behold the thing starts and I was behind the customer and the driver was processing his card when the tow truck driver told our customer his total of 400 dollars the coach starts and he had this weird twitchy look of disbelief.

2006 Bad Battery

My battery went also at 8 months. 2006 F-150 SCrew FX4. Seemed like an electrical problem as the battery would be low or dead in mornings. Hard start or no start. Would charge heavily when plugged in to charger, and then work fine if driving frequently throughout the day. Gauges would do the "drop to zero and jitter" when first starting, as someone mentioned previously. Also clock reset and CD player reset each time it was low, but still able to start. Dealer checked it out, installed a new battery, and said the battery was bad. Seems like they see that a lot. I hope the replacement they installed lasts for a few years this time!!!

im glad you got that fix, it sucks when people see you in a brand new $30k truck with a dead battery, that is embarrasing.

When I found my truck on the lot, it was stone cold dead from sitting in one place for 6 months. Jumped it, since then I have a remote start, and a PIE as my only accessories and the battery works fine.
