JR I don't know about. But the full CIA from Airaid wasn't good, it was gone in a few weeks. I use the K&N FIPK and can vouch for a definate power gain and increase in response with no CEL for $200 shipped.

Why is everyone hating on the oil type? It's been proven to work for years? Just curious.

05 supercrew, you helped with my exhaust so maybe I can help out here. I have the airaid tube and a k&n filter. This was the first mod I made to my truck when I purchased her. Everything was dead stock. After installation I noticed an increase in throttle response and the butt dyno recorded a marginal increase in "getty-up". For the money a good buy. Plus, since I am way down South and a normal rainfall is apx. 1 to 3 inches per rain storm, I like to have the airbox located up high..... hope this helps....

The problem is not with oiled filters,it's when people clean the filter and over oil it.

Ok I too have been thinking of one of these. I like how it cleans up the stock engine compartment. Can it be used with the stock paper filter? Also where is a good place to get it from? Thanks for any info.

Yes you can use the Airaid Jr Kit with just a paper filter, or any other filter for that matter. You can just buy the modular intake tube without the filter for under $90. Not sure the best place to get them though, I think I got mine from Summit Racing.

I recently added / removed the Outlaw Intake system because of the mid range drone. I only had it installed for 4 days and 100 miles.

Drone: Normal acceleration is great. Wide open throttle is acceptable. At 2000 RPM under engine load the drone is miserable. (hills in OD, etc)

To explain: I have the 50 series Flowmaster on this vehicle and had the 70 series on my old one and I preferred the 70 series. I just don’t like hearing much in the cab at all.

Mods:
Edge stage 2 (max std shift points and reduce WOT shift points)
Flowmast 50 series S

Will I have the same trouble with the Airaid Jr?
What does the tube connect to behind the headlight?

I doubt that you will have any drone with this setup. Very little difference from stock (sound-wise). The tube is supported by the stock bracket, so the end just sits behind the headlight without connecting there.

It sounds to me like your exhaust is your problem not the intake. Im about to get the Outlaw cai now im wondering if there is a problem with the Magnaflow exhaust.
