Talking Nissan Titan? That was tasty...

So I keep hearing about all the F150's getting smoked by Titans. Not the case for me.

Going to work early one morning there is a stretch of road where I have eaten a few trucks for breakfast. Well this Nissan rolls up, git a younger kid in there. Now I have never been to a track or anything, just a little street every once in a while. Anyway, this kid looks over and points to the light. I nod and get ready. Light goes green and I punch it. No squeals on the tires. Next light is about 1000 ft ahead. Kid never got close. As we come to the next light, I look over and and point, he just shakes his head no and we go on our way to work.

I have killed a silverado z71 and a dodge hemi there as well. All I am running is the Troyer 91 performance tune. I have yet to add any intake or exaust (which the Titan was running, you could hear it).

I think some of it may have to do with reflxes as well, as I have pretty quick reflexes.

Oh yeah, I eat rice all day long, too.

It might also help that I am a super cab with the short 5.5 box too.

I dont believe it. Either the kid is horrible at draggin or I call B.S. My bro has a titan I regularly run with and I got burned 25 percent of the time. I am fully regeared, intake, edge level 2 and have a flowmaster system. I barely beat him, I never "kill" him. The titans come stock sounding throaty like they have a exaust, so he was most likely stock.

Thanks for sharing your story, but next time to avoid harrasment I would video tape it. But there tends to be someone who ultimately finds something wrong...during the footage. Life is a bitch...but to each there own.

Nice kill...I can easily believe it...I know what those Troyer tunes can do...

Everyone is really quick to call BS around here...Especially the guys with either stock trucks or no Troyer performance tunes.

Hi.

I agree with Josiah.

Also, Procomp - despite your regearing, you still have the physics to deal with - rotational mass of your huge wheels/tires, 'barn-door' aerodynamics with your lift, the No-Flow torque reduction issue, and a non-optimal intake.

Add all of that to your weight/initial power penalty, and I'm surprised you can even stay with him.

Sorry - them's the facts, junior . Don't sweat it - it can all be corrected.

For High Lander ... nice kill.

Cheers
Bubba

Honestly unless your truck has steroids from the factory their is no way you beat a Titan with ONLY a 91 tune,, find another Titan to race and race him into 2nd gear and watch him start pulling, SPECIALY if you say that he had a intake n exhaust, cause I have a tune intake n exhaust n I cant strech no Titans unless I down grade to ugly stock 18's

The shortbed S'cab's are fast though. Mine's markedly faster than the crew cab it replaced.

Nice kill high lander. Don't listen to the nay sayers on here that say it can't be done. I spanked a Titan with my 150 the second day I had my Troyer tunes. I was on the 93 Perf. tune and the guy was a friend of mine. We got it on from a 40 mph roll and ran all the way to 100. I had him by 3-4 truck lengths when we let off. Yes it is very possible to beat a Titan with one of these trucks.....just not in stock tune!

So, if I MOD the hell out of my truck (100's or 1000's) of dollars, how can I brag about beating a stock truck? I put say $300 in a tune, $300 in an intake, $300 in a new exhaust. Then pull up beside a Titan, Ram, etc and they still have the 'paper tags" on their truck, we run, I either hang with him, or barely beat him. Am I supposed to be proud of all of my time and effort just to say I can hang with that Titan or Ram? Now, if he adds one of the above pieces, I now have to avoid him knowing now he can beat me.

Nothing against making a truck look better or even run better, I just don't understand the reason we MOD the hell out of our trucks just to hang with someone else that is stock and then brag.

Lander, I am not pointing at you, I'm just trying to get some clarification.

Good points RandallT. The Titan I beat did have an aftermarket exhaust and intake but no tuner. I have raced him before when we where both bone stock and he did beat me but not as bad as you would think. I think it really comes down to the weight difference on these trucks, they are tanks! Mine weighs 6280 pounds full of gas and me in it( I weigh 195) which is 700-800 pounds heavier than my buddy's 2wd Titan.

The same reason why anyone at the drags races and mods their vehicle. .

Dudes, I totally smoked a Ferrari. He was all "VROOOOM" and I was all "WAAAAAAAAAAA" and it was no contest. 'Course it was during rush hour traffic and he was driving in the opposite direction, but he knew what was up.

BTW, BS.
