Opinions Please - Toolbox

I am going to by a diamondplated tool box for my trust. Do you guys think I should go with black or chrome? Thanks in advance for the opinions.

Black, less work trying to polish.

Thanks, you are right. I have been leaning toward black, but thought chrome might look good with my wheels. I think black is the way to go, though.

If you go with black have it sprayed with Line-X and then it will last for ever without any polishing.

Might want to search this topic. I know this issue was addressed not to long ago. Here is a link to a search and me personally I love sleek smooth stainless steel.

i'd prefer chrome because the black doesn't really match the body or the plastic in color and the chrome matches the bumpers...but black would recede so it would be less prominent

nice looking pickup btw...what level kit are you running if i may ask? i like the tire size

Wow, you guys are amazing with these responses. Thanks alot for the opinions and links. djh1121, I already told you that the pics of your truck helped me make my wheel decision, and now the tool box thread that you started is a great help also.

I have a 2" AS leveling kit. It works perfect with my wheel/tire setup.

I like Chrome myself....one thing you need to make SURE you cover....you have a 5.5ft bed (So do I) and the toolbox I have takes up a LOT of the bed...make sure it's what you want, and look at the possible options. I'm not sure I would have gone the "Normal" route had I bought the truck first...but I just took the one I have off of the truck I was trading in.

To me, the toolbox has always been more of a 'work' truck looking add-on instead of a "make my truck look better" modification. It's functional more than it is good looking. For that reason, I chose black for my black truck. It doesn't stand out that way ... more subtle. I also chose the chest style ... again, a personal preference for my particular usage and look. I just think a chrome box looks "work truck -ish." Maybe that's just the perception I've created over time ... in my city/area. Does chrome match the wheels and/or bumpers? Well, yes, but it just seems to stick out more than anything else (to me). $0.02.
