Question Chrome or Black toolbox for my black truck???

Help me make up my mind… I want/need to get a toolbox for my truck. I know I want the low profile one, but don’t know if I want the chrome or black diamond plate. The only thing about the chrome is it look’s dull after a short time IMO. I have a black truck so help me out here.

Also what brands do you have?

Thanks in advance…

I don't have a toolbox, but I would definitely get chrome with your black truck. It would match your bumpers/rims very nicely.

Nice looking truck BTW

I'd have to say chrome too. You could buff and polish the chrome box to keep it looking good. I've seen black boxes that loose the paint after a few years.

Black, definitely.
Mine's a UWS

The black is getting a little dull, but I haven't tried polishing it yet. And some of the black is coming off around a few ridges of the diamondplate, but that is my doing from throwing things in the bed or on top of the toolbox. Overall, I love it.

black.
actually since you have chrome bumpers a chrome tool box might go well with them.

Way to be decisive.
In my opinion the chrome toolboxes never shine the way the bumpers do, so they won't really match.

I have some pics of a UWS black low-pro box in my gallery if you are interested.

Thanks guys... I stopped by a local shop this afternoon and checked the price on a chrome on. It looked great and I though it wasn't a bad deal for $225.

My only fear how do I keep it looking new after I get it. Any tricks?

I would go with the polished. It is not chrome it is polished which makes it cost less than the powdercoated black. Go with a Cam-Locker with the remote lock. It will be a great investment.

I like black. I picked mine up at Tractor Supply for about $180 I think. It's probably not the fanciest box out there, but it serves the purpose for me and then some.

Thanks!

I think the silver would look great on your truck especially with those wheels but I, like you, think they get old looking too fast.

With older automotive paint, say 10 years or so ago, I think the boxes faded along with the trucks paint and you never noticed. But todays paint keeps looking brand new and shiny a whole lot longer and I believe thats one reason bare aluminum boxes look so old after a couple of years.
