The day I bought my truck I took it over to my buddys shop, and lowered the back with the Ford Racing Shackles 2" part #M3000G (only available through Tommy Vaughn Ford), and when I parked next to my dads factory Lariat 2WD I was lower and you could definatly tell.

But now after the 22's I am taller all the way around then his truck, front and back.

So you can't tell me the factory size rims/tires were 31.7" tall...
The factory tires are 31.1" tall

So if I'm going to put some bolt-ons for now and wait on the S/C then should I just jump down to the 3.73 or 4.11 ???

Has anyone installed a set of wheels or tires that have an overall hieght of 32" with these gears???

Is it just the wieght then that has changed so much???

Buying a tuner and adjusting the tire height as well as putting new gears in will help with your gas mileage and power

So staying mild like a 3.73 would be worth the swap???

Hi G-Note.

Some of the stock tires are over 32" - the 18" Conti's on the FX4 for example, and the 20" Scorpions are close at 31.9". All can be had with a 3.55 rear. Each PCM VID block has the specific calibrations for tire size installed from the factory.

As was posted before, don't bother to regear, especially only to 3.73, if you plan on an S/C.

Also, F150 Tran is correct - you will need to recalibrate since your shifting is off, as is your speedo.

If you spring for an Xcal2 ( e.g the Group buy), you can use it to do that, gain some decent power & waaay better shifting, and still use it for a boosted tune.

Good luck & welcome to the forums - just got off to a bad start, is all

Cheers
Bubba

Damn fellas.....

Ok, first of all I'm gonna clear some **** up here since I have these same wheels. The price of $900 that was floating around was for wheels only, no tires. With tires they can be had for $1700 which is what I got mine for. This is a good deal I don't care what anyone says. The Pirellis that are on there retail for around $240 a piece, just check tirerack.com and add in shipping.....

And Dribone.....the comment about being not being original by choosing these wheels, I don't really appreciate very well. Pretty much everything I have personally done to my truck are from OEM parts that ended up comming together in a nice package that matches MY taste and the way I wanted it to look, so how is that not original? Just because you buy aftermarket rims instead of a good looking OEM one shouldn't make **** bit of difference in the end. With all this said, I love your truck and what you have done with it, I think it looks badass, but don't be quick to down someone elses ideas even if they are new to this forum and being kind of quick to jump on ppl for their honest responses.

And G-NOTE, The overall tiresize you had on your truck from the factory was probably a lot smaller than what you have with the 22's so you would notice a difference. In my case, my FX4 wheels were the exact same diameter as the 22's so gearing/speedo didn't change at all, only rotational mass. My FX4 wheels/tires weigh about 75lbs a piece, whereas the 22's weigh about 85-90. If you plan on getting a supercharger, then I'd still recommend 3.73's at least. If not, get the 4.10's or even 4.56's

I appreciate the great responses, I guess I need to decide weither or not to supercharge my truck and spend $5k or do some bolt-ons and spend the money elsewhere like cosmetics...

Like most of us, this is my daily driver. My toy is a 1993 Mustang Cobra, which I have if I want to go fast.

I guess I'm leaning towards the 4.11 if I don't spend the money on a S/C.

Does any body know what kind of RPM's I'll be turning with the 4.11 ???

Hi check out this handy little chart.

http://www.oly4x4.com/gearratios.htm

I'd say approx 2800 rpm with 32's and 4.11's in 3rd. So in OD (0.70), it would be approx 1960 rpm & change - say 2000 rpms or thereabouts.

Cheers
Bubba
