22" wheels/tires, Should I gear it???
I bought the rims before I even got the truck, A friend of mine in cali works at a shop that customizes the trucks before they ever get to the dealerships. I bought them from him with the factory size tires, mounted balanced and ready to go for $1700 shipped to my door. They were brand new never even rolled on!!! Still had all the stickers and markings on the tires/rims, also had all the little nipples on the tires.

You can't tell me that this trucks factory rims/tires aren't that much different than these 22" rims/tires.
The day I bought my truck I took it over to my buddys shop, and lowered the back with the Ford Racing Shackles 2" part #M3000G (only available through Tommy Vaughn Ford), and when I parked next to my dads factory Lariat 2WD I was lower and you could definatly tell.
But now after the 22's I am taller all the way around then his truck, front and back.
So you can't tell me the factory size rims/tires were 31.7" tall...

$900 bucks, not for the 2007 Harley Wheels...
Maybe the 2006 wheels (
they don't have charcoal inserts, and they are polished with no clearcoat), and thats probibly with bald #@$ tires.
And so what, there is always going to be someone AFTER the fact that says wow
thats alot of money you paid, but when its time to buy...

they might have been the 06's, you're right on that, but this was a custom shop... the truck had like 70 miles on it.
as far as "there is always going to be someone AFTER the fact that says wow thats alot of money you paid, but when its time to buy..."
you have to talk to the right people before you buy... and its just a matter of finding those people

I used to belive in hookups, and I guess I still do. But I've gotten to a point in my life finacially to where I am not intrested in back door deals, I've grown impatient. Plus if paying $1700 for a set of wheels that retails for $6600 from ford is a bad deal, then I guess I got screwed...
And by the way talking to right people could'nt have got me a wheel the just hit the dealerships on trucks less than a month ago. Ford does'nt even have a part # for the 07' wheels yet...
But thanks for the Negative Feedback!

So If I plan on pulling my boat with this truck, then I should go with a 3.73 gear, an intake, exhaust, and programmer of some sort. That way if I buy a supercharger the gearing would be good.
What do you guys know about throttle body spacers??

whatever, i'm not even talking about back door deals... when i was going to buy my rims, i was about to pay 325 a piece. a quick email to a friend pointed me in the direction where i was able to get them for 245. its not hookups, its knowledge.
TBS don't do anything except whistle. it's a $100.00 paperweight. If you go with the Edge, you'll tow fine, but later on if you put the S/C on, it'll be useless.

Those tires alone are $371 (ea) , and the wheels are $405 if you have another wheel for a trade in! Do your reserch...
$996 is retail for the wheel without a trade of another damaged wheel...
So yeah you have a part #, but that # wasn't available when I got mine, even if I was going to buy from the dealer...
And how did things get so off topic, Oh yeah I remember thread ******...
Congrats you are the third ***** today, please wait to claim your prize...
My questions were never about TIRES/WHEELS or Prices for them...
The thread was about gearing my truck, but I guess everyone on this site is quick to jump on a newbie and try to prove something...
I am new to this site not to forums...

1. The prices i stated are direct FORD pricing. The tires are also FORD pricing.
2. Your dealer is BS because the core charge is only $50.00 and most GOOD dealers wave this anyway.
3. Part numbers are established before the vehicle even goes into production.
And just for ****s and giggles the HD wheels are weigh aprox. 52lbs/ea.
KID, WOW! You internet gangstars are hilarious..
I'm an adult asking a question about gearing and look where this has ended up, a pissing match between the locals and a newbie...
If anything YOU guys should grow up. I stated what I know to be fact from tommy vaughn ford in houston, I also don't care to be original. I liked these wheels and bought them, it doesn't matter what I paid for them what the cost or who has a better deal...
What does matter is what gear do I use with these rims/tires, the hieght obviously changed therefore the gearing should as well. I'm sure someone else has encountered this, and thats why I'm asking. Otherwise i figure it out myself.
Argueing on the Net is like the special olypics, even if you win your still a retard!!!
Thanks,
