System Questions once again

Hey everyone...finally the next thing on my list is the system. I've asked about it before but now its time to get serious. I was looking at getting an average priced alpine/pioneer headunit..nothing special. Could someone recommend me a model?
I'm hoping to run two 10inch subs under the rear seat in a supercrewsound box. Which sub would would you suggest?http://www.supercrewsound.com/shop/cat/56.htm

Not sure which amp to choose out of these. Which do you prefer?
http://www.supercrewsound.com/shop/cat/35.htm
Finally, Im unsure of what kind of speakers and size to get. Could someone point me in the right direction and price.
I dont want to spend a fortune but want a good quality system.
How hard is to install all of this by yourself..if you have decent knowledge wiring stuff you should be ok?

As far as head units go, there are a few good ones to choose from. Here is a good demonstration of what the Kenwoods can offer. Here's my system......

Kenwood DDX7015

DV-4100 Nav

DVD

Back-up cam

10 GB MP3 Keg to store about 2500 songs

Single 10" enclosure from musicmooseaudio with an old MTX Thunder in it

Another shot

Infinity Reference components up front

So far I am very happy with this setup, it pretty much gives you everything you need for the road. I am glad you are looking at a dual 10" box. It seems the way the speakers are mounted and the area they are in, 2 are needed to really get some good bass, sometimes I wish I had 2. As far as sub recommendations, IDK if the supercrewsound box is like mine, but if it is you are limited by depth dimentions due to the lack of space. Luckily the MTX I used fit almost perfectly because it isn't that powerful of a sub, but you gotta make sure what you get will fit.

i just ordered that DVD headunit. No nav though maybe later. So far my system is infinity kappa all the way around JL a4300 pushing them. 2 JL 10w3v3 in custom box and seat lift being pushed by a RF T1001BD and a soon to be replaced Alpine 9857. I havnt talked much about it yet because I dont have a cam to post pic and threads are useless without pics.

its impossible to mount either one of those subs in that box due to the mounting depth, there are a limited number of subs that you can mount in that shallow of mounting depth. That is the problem that I am having plus I dont really want to spend $150 on a seat lift. If anyone has any suggestions please throw them on the table...

If I were to do it over again w/o a seat lift...I would go with DLS Iridium or Nobelium sub(s). They are not considered an "inexpensive" sub...so most will shy away from them.

EDIT: BTW, they will fit in those boxes.

Perfect timing on this thread!

I have the pioneer z1 HU and the "audiophile" system that my truck came with stock.

I think I'm going to stick with the audiophile sub but this z1 is easily distorting my door speakers on the "loud" setting of low.

What are some good component speakers that have external crossovers to replace the audiophile components?

Also, should I put an amp on the new components and where could I put it? I can't put it on the ground because of the grime and salt in the winters.

Also, do you guys suggest replacing the wiring too or just sticking with the stock wiring?

Duke

Amp placement - Back wall behind the rear seat back. Out of the way and out of sight of a potential thief...plus, they couldn't get the seat back off in a rush even if they needed too.

Speakers - Pound for pound...dollar for dollar...the best out right now is Rainbow (yes, I know "best" is subjective). They have a speaker set for all levels ($100 to $9000 plus) and each level will out perform and sound better than any other comparable brand. They have a huge following in the car audio community. The downfall, they are made in Germany and only a few US distributors...so they will be hard to audition. I bought a $1300 set (in my signature) w/o auditioning them and wasn't disappointed...they are the best sounding components I've owned.

Check them out here:

To everyone installing a system...my best advice is to concentrate on the install...it's more important!

Amps - I'm a HUGE Zapco fan...I'll probably always have a Zapco C2K 9.0, my favorite amp of all time. Zapco has reference level amps comparable to JL Audio prices (I used JL Audio because they are super mainstream and everybody has heard of them...no other reason). Zapcos are strong, under rated amps...if you were to find a nice used one...go for it! Most of my Zapcos were purchased used.

I've responded to this a couple of times, but let me get a little more specific on your questions.

About a headunit I would stick with Eclipse or Alpine, just get the most you can with what you feel comfortable spending. Look at features you want and go from there.

About an amp...decide which subs you are going to get and go from there. It will depend on if you get DVC or SVC and their ohm rating (along with your wiring). If you get two 2ohm DVC subs...look for an amp that can do the combined rating (RMS) of the subs at 2ohms.

example: two 2ohm DVC subs w/ 200 watts each (400 watts combined)
amp 400 watts (RMS) x 1 @ 2ohms

The speakers...I've already recommended what I perfer, but size...I would go with 6.5s. Most only need minor trimming of the door panel...wont be seen when installed. Also, I would have a seperate amp to run the speakers and a seperate amp to run the subs.

Hope this helps!

Since you dont have an amp, it doesn't matter.

2ohm subs...amp - 600 watts @ 2ohms.
4ohm subs...amp - 600 watts @ 1ohm.

If you are running 4 speakers (front & rear) get a 4 channel amp or two 2 channel amps and a sub amp. You can also look for a 5 channel (with 4 speakers) or a 3 channel (with 2 speakers), but it will be hard to find one that matches you speaker rating and sub rating, hence one reason why I get seperate amps.
