High Idle surge on startup??
yes this is normal, its like the old days of carbs with the choke on it would idle high till u kicked it down. i know alot of u are young here and never had a carberated vehical

?Cold-start fuel enrichment and corresponding short-term high idle (by allowing extra air past the throttle plate) are a requirement of all gasoline engines to ensure a cold-start is gonna be successful.

... anywho we have an '04 durango that does the same thing. but my 05 f-150 does it too. the durango doesnt do it as bad...
