You can save some money and get your own hardware, and if you feel up to it i would remove the front bumper and buy my own grade 8 hardware (when you remove the bumper you have full access to the front frame rails) and the front bumper is only really 4 bolts and quick disconnect of the fogs.

what is the easiest way to install them??

I had to take off my whole front bumper just to get the figure eight bolts into the frame. The unbolting of the bumper was a pain in the ****! But once they were off I bolted the hooks on in 5 mnutes. Then another 30 to get the bumper back on and everything. I did overcut the opening on my bumper so I need a new lower valance. So Y2K...how is that bumper you have doing that you wanna sell? Email me at....oomcneilranger@aol.com

I did the hooks thing without taking off the front bumper and it wasnt that bad. I spent $25 for hooks, went to the Depot for bolts ($4 or $5) and $48 for the 4X4 valance. I still have the old valance(2wd) if anyone wants it I'll part with it for $20 and shipping.

So what do you have to do to put some hooks in? Do you have to remove the front bumper? Seems like a lot of stuff but im sure it's well worth it.

If you use the stock ford parts with the firgure eight bolts you have to remove the bumper. Once its removed its a piece of cake to install the hooks. I do need a 4x4 valance now though, how hard is it to get these off the bumper?

If i can remember correctly it is 4 (8mm) bolts on each side of the frame rails and then another 4 in the middle, a total of 12. And then pull to remove.

Not at all it took just a few minutes to get the valance off.

I do have a like new valance I will get rid of I said I'd like $20 and shipping but throw me an offer. The valance is 2 wd no holes cut for hooks.

No you don't, if you take your valance off to cut it there is more than enough room to slide the nut assembly in between the frame and the bumper. then hold the nut assembly in place with a screw driver through one of the bolt holes and start the first bolt. It was a very simple install IMO.

BTW for what its worth...I bought a 06 valance off of an FX4 and it would not fit my 04 Lariat bumper. The notches where the tow hooks go where shaped SLIGHTLY different. So anybody buying one I would try to get one that came off your year model style bumper.

Do you guys have a close up shot of the valance w/ holes? I'm getting ready to install mine and don't feel like going ALL the way over to my bro's house to look at his 4wd valance. BTW, I'm assuming the holes are large enough to fit over the hooks, once installed (i.e. you can install them at different times)...thx.
