Question Before and After Towing experiences after installing the "Edge"

Can anyone share their experiences towing with your F-150 before and after installing the Edge programmer?

I towed a trailer with car, about 5000 lbs or maybe a little more. On a flat surface the truck did ok but really struggled when I got on the ramp entering the freeway or a steep uphill from a stand still position.

Would the Edge help the truck to gain more HP or Torque towing this amount of weight? What exactly does the Edge in the tow mode do for the truck?

Need info to decide if buying the Edge would benrfit me.

TIA!

I have towed a utility trailer only but I can tell you, it will help. Heck, the gauges alone for trans temp, oil temp, voltage, engine temp, etc. alone would be worth it to me.

What were the differences that you noticed after adding the Edge evo?

The biggest advantage of the edge is the tranny temp guage. It also helps the trans shift firmer and more quickly. It doesnt seem to me at add any hp or torque, but thats just my opinion. Dont get me wrong it is well worth the $300 I paid for it. No F150 should be sold without one.

The biggest thing that you gain from the Edge is the shifting, its makes your power more useable in my opinion. I got about a 50hp/60 ftlb of torque gain in the towing rpm range with the edge. And overall gain of about 20hp and 65ftlb peak gain with the edge. And I get about 2 mpg better towing a 25 foot travel trailer thats about 5000 pounds. Its well worth it also to keep an eye on the temps, even though nothing ever gets out of hand, or even close to it.

I"ll second that. Not really any more power under load. Don't get me wrong I see a big difference just driving around and love having it. But when I'm pulling the hills with the same load w/or w/out the edge I don't see any difference in power getting to the top. What it does help in tow mod is shifting gears better. Like everyone else is saying the gauge make it all the better. Buy it, it's a blast. You wont be sorry you did.

That was level 3, on level two it made about 10hp/63tq. And still the same gain in the towing range.
