i've said it before and use it personally on my truck.... the stock fog light connector (04) plugs directly into Hella type ballasts. there is plenty of length of wires. if you are worried about 'wrecking' you stock harness, ford put a fuse in there for a reason. two ballast starting at the same time will pop the 15 amp fuse. if they start at least 10 sec appart there is no problem. so i run a 20 amp fuse with no problems at all. there is just over 15 amps only for the initial ~10 sec warmup.
so save ur money and time and use the stock harness.

hmm...didn't know that. I wonder how big of a deal those extra 5 amps would be over time though? Either way, my idea gives complete assurance and saftey to the stock harness. But either way does the job with different levels of risk.
Good post!

Is the headlight system and also the fog system on the same fuse?
like i said....its marginly (i wouldn't say 5 amps) over 15 amps for 5-10 sec. i'm not the least bit worried. i haven't bothered to measure the exact draw.
no, totally separate fuses. try the 15 first and it might hold...mine didn't.

Gotcha. Thanks for the prompt reply. I appreciate it.
I wonder what the pull on these ballasts may be that I purchased -- You mention that you have a Hella setup correct? I wonder if 20 will be sufficient for mine.
Okay. Not sure what mine will look like... I just got a tracking number telling me that they're shipping tomorrow (this after buying them on Monday morning early -- a bit disappointed about that I must say)...
Thanks again for your help... I repp'd you. Much appreciated bud...

I'd try a 20 amp right away b/c if a Hellas ballasts blows a 15, those aftermarket ballasts will blow a 15 right away.
Best of luck, stinks on the shipping but in a way it's kind of expected. Very few people ship on time unfortunately now with ebay.

Yeah... if it's as simple as pulling a fuse out of the fuse block and putting another one in there to make it all work -- and work safely -- I'm all for it!
They *may* make it here on Saturday (shipped via USPS Priority) but, I'm banking on Monday.

Matt05FX4 bought the same set from the same guy... I was going on his experience with the kit and his satisfaction. I hope I have the same luck he has had with them. My kit is in route -- probably won't be here until Monday though.
I'm not sure about Riken.

Just posted roughly 32 pictures of my HID retrofit output pictures and HID foglight pictures.
Everyone better love these pictures because they were a pain to take and post!
