I drove the Silverado yesterday at a Chevy display at the State Fair of Texas. As far as fit & finish, it's really good - every bit as good as the Ford. The seats are infinitely more comfortable than the Ford. The ride is much smoother & quieter than any Chevy I can remember - much like the impression I got when I first drove this gen Ford. The F150 is still better looking and has a better looking interior than the Chevy. Power-wise, the Chevy is much stronger with much better brakes. I didn't get a look at the pricing, but I suspect it's comparable for each trim level.

I don't like Chevys, but... it's a pretty nice truck. I couldn't find anything that would make me say, "I wouldn't buy it." (Other than the bowtie, of course).

It seems that GM finally realized that people don't always use light duty pickups for light duty. They are following Ford's lead and over building the new gen trucks with that in mind. I can see the next generation F150's getting into the low end of super duty numbers for towing\hauling, maybe with a diesel option.
