35x12.5x18 Toyo MT on stock 18" rim
Well, I posted twice in the tire/wheel section asking members if anyone runs a 35x12.5x18 on a stock 18" rim using a Pro Comp 6" lift. I ran Toyo AT 35x13x18 on Pro Comp 6089 rims 18x9. During the salty winter I put the smallish stockers back on to preserve the chrome on my rims because of the heavy salt use here. The stockers looked awefull on the lifted truck, but at least I saved my rims.
People thought I could put the 35x12.5 x18 MT on the stock rim with the 6" lift. So I ordered the Toyo MT. Guess what...they rub on the front steering knuckle...more on the driver side. I put on a 1/4 spacer but didn't like that idea much, so I removed the rim/tire again and put a grinder to that heavy duty steering knuckle supplied by Pro Comp in their kit. 3/16 on the driver side and 1/8 on the pass side took care of it, only grinding at the widest section of the tire, not the whole length of the knuckle...no rubbing now. All is well now. I hope this clarifies things incase anyone wanted this combo.
