Does anyone have a picture of a Line of Fire uninstalled? I got mine today and its the Bully brand and is in 3 pieces. Are they all like this or did I just get the wrong brand?

It comes with some very vague instructions. Its not that I cant figure it out. but it has some long leads and you have to plus each of the 3 pieces together to get the 60" led. The problem is that there is not a good way to hide the pigtails that plug the different strips together.

for what it's worth, I've been noticing these light bars recently on trucks/suv's around here, but almost everytime I see one, half the lights on the bar are burnt out. Looks tacky like that and they must not be built to last...

I could -maybe- see myself getting one. Maybe. But I think I would have to wire it only to fire when the brakes are on. I don't like the look with the parking lights that much. And the newer style with the turn signals? No.

PRECISELY my problem right now. Duke, I know you have a LOF in hand -- have you installed? If so, how did you dodge that plunger thingy and the 'hump' on the right side?

I posted a response in your thread.

I don't have the guts to cut off the metal rod so it'll stay there to support the tailgate when it's down. I just notched the light bar 2 or 3 CM with my sodering iron to give the rod clearance.

The uneven metal to the right wasn't a big deal as it concaves deeper and the light bar just goes straight over it. Granted part of the 3M adhesive isn't touching there. But I warmed up the 3M adhesive before putting it on the cleaned metal and my light bar isn't moving anywhere; even when I pry on it.

Clean the metal real good and apply a piece of 3m tape to the right side of bump and then install light bar. The applied tape will take the tension off of the bar. I have had mine on going on two years and it hasn't come loose yet.

That's how I wired mine, so it only works with the brake lights, turn signals and reverse. I guess someone has to be different.

Thanks zag... that's exactly what I believe I'm going to do... and, like Duke and others mentioned in the other LOF thread, I think I'm going to snub the running lights wire and not connect it for now...

Make sure you clean the area good with rubbing alcohol. As always ,it's the prep that counts.
