My H13ST & 9145ST vs. Stock

I would like to say i am VERY happy with these. $80 dollars well spent. Also notice in the pictures the birhgt light output (circle) around the main beam of the light. (Obviously you can tell which one is the Silverstar)

I cannot tell a difference in either. Why is that good? Not trying to be a cynic but it's $80 for what looks like almost no improvement. I was able to see the difference in light output on my garage door with my $10 white bulbs off ebay, it was clear which was better. Let me know.

I see a little difference in the color but not in the brightness so much. I did notice that the lights on my truck are a lot better than the 2002 xploder I gave my parents with silverstars. Weird. It might be really hard to tell with the dig camera

I think you hit the nail on the head here with the digital camera thing...

I can tell you this -- I have had 9005s in my fogs for a while now. The light output over stock is not even comprable. I'm pushing pause for just a little while on the 9008's (H13s) to see about the Saleen HID set but, if that doesn't work out (or is hellishly expensive like I expect), I'll probably run a set for a year and see if the price on the HID has dropped.

Silverstar versus stock really isn't a fair comparison... SS's are, indeed, much brighter.

Look at the other SS thread -- so many people saying what a huge improvement over stock they are... it's not just a slight minority that are saying this, it's nearly everyone that has upgraded. There's a reason for that.

Heh, not $80 per bulb.

$80 = 2 H13ST's @ $19.95 and 2 9145ST's @ $19.95

What are the kelvin temps on these SS's, or are they just typical halogens. Some pics they look white in color.

Judging from the other thread, SS are an improvement. That said, the above pictures don't help at all.

They are 4000 deg. K, as stated on the back of the SS package. And trust me there is a huge inprovement over the stockers, they pictures don't do them justice!!

And what's even better is:

$19.99 per bulb, less 20% employee hookup discount, equals $16.00 per bulb

Then the manager throws in a $5 per pair rebate coupon...final cost of $54 plus tax
