FX4 vs Lariat

I had a '04 FX4, now I have a '06 Lariat. Do they have different suspensions? The '04 had 18" wheels, the '06 has 20" wheels so that could be the difference. But I do like the '06 over the '04!

Some of the FX4 have an extra leaf in the rear, and possibly a different leaf width other than that its the same all around...

It just must be the size of the wheels then. THe 20's ride better on the x-pressway and the 18's seemed better on rough pavement.
Why do many go with the F4X over the Lariat? Beside the price?

FX4 caters to those looking for a sporty look. The Lariat is for those old fogeys that want a "luxury" ride.
Yes Thumper, Josiah, et al have the Lariat, they are just fooling themselves.

But it doesn't matter, because the XLT trumps all.

The same reason people pick the XLT over the STX and vice versa........just personal preference.

Well deep down, somewhere in our hearts we all want a Lariat. We just don't want to admit it.

As for myself, a Black and Tan crewcab Lariat 4x4 would be my choice. That is if I wanted to put forth or had the time and effort to keep a black truck up.

I'll admit I don't want one......

Now, the KR is a different story.

definitely personal preference for me- i ordered my truck 04/05 on spring break- with enough budget to get the KR but in the end- i ordered the truck i wanted, exactly how i wanted it, and wouldn't have it any other way- FX4 Supercab 6.5' bed.
didnt want the wood grain...the extra creature comforts were nice, but really all they would to is contribute to my laziness- im pretty sure i can do the mpg math in my head, im pretty sure i can reach over and turn the air on, or the radio all by hand- the full door of a screw could've been nice, but it took out the 6.5' bed-a big no in my book- i loved the fx4 grille, couldn't have it with the lariat- king ranch is definitely nice, but i wanted a less-care free owning experience- we have an 05 KR superduty, and its a beauty, but im an on the run college student and wouldnt have been able to keep it sharp 24-7

I really didnt want the lariat when I got my truck. The FX4 was sport looking compared to the lariat and the FX4 had every thing i wanted except a moonroof and I could live without that. I would really like to have an 06 FX4 with the luxury package

When I was looking for a truck the FX4's were priced alot better. I also couldn't find a Lariat with 3.73LS gears that was a super cab with the 6.5' box, all of them were Screws with the 5.5' box. And I need a 6.5' at min. to get any of my wheelers in the back and still shut the tailgate. Another thing is that I liked the interior of the FX4 better, the fake wood and gauges of the Lariat just doesn't cut it for me.
