possible to replace one panel of the bed box?

I scratched / dented the drivers side panel of the pickup bed box backing into a parking space in a garage. It was a concrete column that jumped out and bit me. FYI, the paint on these trucks appears to be hard as nails as it scratched the clear coat and left white scratches but doesn't appear to have gotten through to the paint or metal. It wouldn't be a big deal except it is right over the wheel where the fender has the flare to it and I just don't see how a body shop will get it right using bondo and they have quoted me about $1500 to do it. The actual metal replacement panel isn't that expensive surprisingly, about $200. I just haven't been able to see how one body panel would be replaced. Anyone have any idea?

looks like it just pops right on, with the help of some nuts and bolts of course...

The outer panel is usually spot welded to the inner panel, so its just a matter of drilling out the spot welds and replacing the panel (had to have the outer panel replaced on a 92 Ranger I owned a while back). If your lucky though, and the dent isn't creased, it may just pop out.

your looking at what speedwolf said. the old one has to be drilled out and the new one welded on. i have done these kinda jobs before it is not as easy as just repairing the panel. its going to cost u alot more as well.
