I've had a recent experience with RamAir. We love the hood and how it looks on my truck.. fits OK and it is functional. I would certainly recommend you get it painted locally as they did a horrible job with ours. Paint color was way off, had some excess run off and the back near the windshield has some orange pealing look to it. APM refunded us $300 for the paint which I believe was fair but it took some time to get them to respond….
Also as a heads up – we ordered in July and received our hood in mid September. Check the inside of box when it arrives before you sign for it. APM wouldn’t even talk about the damaged corner even though there was no external damage to the box at the time of receipt because we signed for it.

Sbull, I am very interested in that hood and would like some more pics if possible. Can you please park your truck out in the street and take a far away pic but zoomed in. This will get rid of that fisheye look, it looks very wierd in the picture to me. Awesome choice though.

I think I really like this hood...
How much did the body shop charge you to paint the hood. I'm probably going to order a hood within the next week or two and now am concerned about the paint job. I have an 06 in Medium Wedgewood and was going to have them do it but now I may have to find a better shop around

not bad man. i personally don't like big hoods on trucks, but that one's not bad.
my pet peeve with hoods now adays? make something different. theres maybe 4 or 5 scoop designs that companies slap on various hoods for different models. like the red truck posted 1 page back. the scoops are stolen from the 96-98 Cobra's.

Well I am real happy with the hood and my experience with the company was real good. I got my hood within 3 weeks unpainted and got it painted and installed for $350. The box was damaged but I fully inspected the hood before I signed for it and it was OK. They said about 90% of refusals involve painted hoods and I did not want to mess with that.
Brovosix1 I'm glad to hear they worked with you and it turned out looking great. I think your hood lines up with the fenders better than mine. Does your hood flex with temperature change? I notice about 1/8" difference in the gaps when the sun beats down on it. And when I drive for a while at night the corners lift a little due to the heat.
My next mod is the 2" AS and aggressive AT's. Probably Terra Grapplers however I really like the Dune Grapplers also. It's just hard for me to spend $800 on new tires when I still have about 40,000 mi. left on mine.

Hood seems to have a sizable gap on both sides and is very tight up near the windshield. Hood came with fixed bolts so there's no adjustment capability on ours.... On the other questions about the paint.. the picture in our garage is the "finished" product with matching paint that I got from RamAir using the JL color code. It cost me nearly $425 to get it "repainted". RamAir started only wanting to refund $245 but they did end up sending us $300 after a couple of weeks of repeated contacting them and providing picture after picture.
Regards,
Bill
did you notice a difference in performance? Is the gap noticeable? Would you recommend this as I am seriously considering it or should I just stick with the stock hood and get an aftermarket intake?
