ok, i have a 05 fx4 extended cab, with black cloth interior. i have the center jump seat with the fold down armrest/console. im looking for the xlt console, to replace the center jumpseat. i have checked ebay and im currently looking here

but i cant make any sense of the descriptions on that website. since i have black cloth seats, what color console am i looking for? is the exact color of the interior with black cloth seats called flint? someone please help me find what im looking for. i also got a quote from here http://www.trademotion.com/partlocat...=9&catalogid=2

but they told me it would be $800 for the whole center console set up. i only want to pay about $300 for the console.

if someone can post a picture of what im looking for it would be great to email to a couple of junk yards.

I will be upgrading in the next few days to the Harley Davidson black piano interior. So I will be getting rid of several portions of my current interior. The first thing that I will be removing are the two top portions of my center console. Here is the pic illustrating what two portions that I’m referring to:



I think those two portions are listed as #3 and #10 on this link that you provided. I will probably be putting those two portions on eBay or in the classfieds on this site sometime next week.

 

Too bad you dont have grey cloth on the seats. I'd entertain the thought of swapping you for $$ since I just fill my console with allk inds of **** anyway. But yeah, I cant use a black seat, and I certainly dont want a big empty void there, thats for sure.

I'm pretty sure the XLT consoles come in flint (gray) or tan and that's it. The floor shift consoles come in a darker gray base that matches the FX interior or tan. I recall someone painting their XLT console, not sure how that would hold up.

Nihilism, did you snag those pieces off ebay? Saw a listing for them last week. Post some pics up when you get it done, I think that's going to look real sweet.

 

i think i would need the arm rest to be black. they dont make it with a black armrest? the rest of it looks like it would match ok.

 

No black armrests with the XLT, they did come on the floorshift consoles in plastic or leather. I think the plastic lid runs @ $68. Awhile back someone was selling flowthrough consoles on ebay with black leather lids for $45 or so. Maybe someone round here has their old black plastic lid in the classifieds.

 

I'd be careful buying the console off car-part.com. I bought my first one there and they guys assured me it was the xlt console (not the seat-console) and it was in perfect condition. What I received was the folding seat-console and it was in terrible condition, not even usable for me. I ended up caughing up the dough and getting one off ebay; at least there you can see what you're getting. The console was totally worth the money though. If a console is listed on car-part, ask them to email you a picture first. I've had some salvage yards do this. Good-luck

 

One028: I thought all FX4's came with the floor shifter, with the exception of the reg cab. So how then are you going to put the XLT console in? I'm confused...

I have never seen a FX4 without a flow thru except the reg cab.

 

My SCAB FX4 didn't come with the flow-through console. I have the 40/20/40 bench in mine.

 

02SuperCrew4X: The floor shifter wasn't standard in the FX when I was looking, not sure about 06-07. FX&Excursion did a XLT console and then the floor shift console and dash conversion in a Screw. Another guy here (FX&Harley or FX4&Harley?) did one in a FX reg cab. The XLT console uses the same mounting points and bolts as the center 20 seat.

I agree with the advice deerfeedrb is giving, ask for pictures. Some of those guys answering the phones are real knuckleheads. The pic I posted above is one sent to me straight from the junkyard. That's the console I have and it cleaned up very well.

 

Floor shifters are optional, not standard on Lariats and FX4's...

 

I painted mine with no problem. Sides are black and the top is flint.

 

Yes, that was me who won it. Hopefully, I could put all the pieces together by next week.

 

Yes I realize that but MOST (99%) of all Lariats and FX4's that I have seen come with it.
