Question Need advice for speaker upgrades

Traded the 04 in on an 06. The 04 had Audiophile, but I didn't want the subwoofer under the rear seat again, so the 06 just has the basic single-disc stereo. I'd like to improve the sound without adding a sub. What are good replacements for the door speakers? Should I add an amp?

HAHA, not me again
www.Memphis.com Great speakers. You won't find these at Best Buy, Circuit City or Crutchfield. Good car stereo shops carry them.
Congrates on the new truck.

you need to make a discenion on a amp before buying speakers, most that will sound good on HU power will got to h@ll when powered by a amp...

most any name brand speaker with low watts RMS and high sensitivity level rating will be a marked improvement over stock speakers...

I don't know what your budget is or your experience at installing, but I would at least go with a good 3 way component system (w/ an amp) if you don't want a sub.

A 3 way system can be tricky in our trucks for the inexperienced.

Of course it all depends on how much you want to spend.

Just upgrading to any brand name speaker will give you a better sound. The Pioneers that drop right in improved my sound a lot.

I've had five sound systems in my truck (just like playing with it) and presently run an Alpine amp,KW-AVX706 double din dvd/sd head unit, a Clarion powered sub and a set of tweeters, plus I sound deadened the truck.

But just adding the speakers helped the stock systems.

The stock 25 watt papers are not so good, except for AM radio...

Hmm I wonder if I got the audiophile minus the sub cause my system don't sound all that bad. Acutally it's comparible to my Escape with 6 disk and factory sub. My 150 has the cd/cassette combo and just the 4 door speakers. I've got a complete audio system arriving tuesday just for more bass and better control over the overall sound.

Polk Audio db5250 5-1/4" Component System
Infinity Reference 6812cf 6"x8" 2-way
Polk Audio MM 2104 10" Sub
Q-Logic enclosure
Pioneer DEH-P7800MP CD Receiver
JBL GTO755.6 II 60W X 4 + 107W X 2 Car Amp
plus lots of dyanmat
