Alcohol question

Anyone out there add a little to their tank, for performance. I know a tech that has a mustang gt 86ish model. He did the exhaust and chip, maybe a few other things. He adds maybe 20 oz or so to his 94 octane, gets a 113 rating or so.

He tells me it made a huge difference in the way it runs. I know it sounds a lot different at idle than it normally did.

Anyone here try this on their trucks?

The stuff is everywhere around here with all the dirt track guys.

More than likely the gas you are putting in your truck already has about 10% alcohol. Without the flex fuel, you really don't want to go much higher than that.

alcohol makes less horsepower per pound than gasoline. There is 10% already in the tank, as kingfish51 says. Raising Octane without advancing timing does nothing for you. Actually can lose you power.

Octane has to do with the speed the fuel burns, lower octane burns faster, higher burns slower.
