Why??

Why cant I beat my brothers Titan in anything? Him and I were racing down the street and he still got ahead of me and stayed there. I know the Titan is the 5.6 and mine is the 5.4. But should that make that much of a difference? His truck is stock, mine has ( I should be careful of using the word MODS ) edge, 4.10 gears, intake and flowmaster system. Maybe Josiah or some other drag master can chime in and tell me what I should do next to my engine to make my truck go faster.

only about 3% to 5% that's if you go carbon fiber....your gonna have to swap out the whole DS anyways once it starts to go its not serviceable like most of the parts on the drive line and suspension ... on most modern trucks

yes, but from what I've read, it would be negligible.

The problem here is more than one. You're running 35" tires with 4.10's.

That is almost exactly the same as stock tire size with a 3.73 gear.. Thats the first problem.

So lets rule out the 4.10 gears as a mod... essentially, you're stock.
So now you have an Edge, intake, and exhaust.

Sorry to burst you're bubble, but the K&N intake for our trucks is known for producing very little HP/Tq gains on these engines. But they sound cool under WOT.

Exhaust... Maybe 10 HP in the upper RPM range... Don't count on exhaust to add much either.

Edge: Everyone knows they add *some* power.

Now, let's deal with weight. You added more weight witht he lift and larger tires. People say that adding gears will over come the loss you have by adding larger tires... Yes, they correct the gearing.. they don't fix the added weight. You still have the same engine horsepower whether you have 4.10 gears or 7.20s..

Plus the frame of our truck.. as you know.. is massive for a 1/2ton pickup.. Marketed as the strongest 1/2 ton frome EVER best I recall.

He runs his power through 5 speeds and you through 4... That means he will be a little faster in that department.

But hey, atleast your truck looks a hell of a lot better than his.

Well said
I have said it before, if some of the 4x2 and 4x4 supercab and supercrew owners really knew what they were putting down as far as stock rwhp, many would have a fit. Then add 500lbs more in weight with wheels, lift, tonneau etc. and wonder why your truck feels slugish

Haahaha I know I have no real big power adders on my engine.. With all the "mods" (dont get pissy Josiah) I was going for fuel economy rather than overall power. But hey at least mine looks better! Woohoo

It must be that dana 60 you swapped and neglected to mention in your list of mods (but the door handle is pretty significant) in and then back out with the 6x135mm hubs. Why don't you remove your cats, throw on some pullies, e-fans, custom tuning, something. If you are asking for advice in what will help get your truck moving, why in God's name did you respond to my threads raising the bs flag.

The fivesix responds very well to mods, I've spent a lot of time in the titan community reviewing their results...nothing like the response we get from our 5.4's. I'm not pissy, I just notice how you and a few others have taken advantage of internet anonymity by passing your bs flags off as some intelligent objection but you come on a day later asking how we do it. Like I said, many members here have made it to the Pismo meet and ask any of them if I'm anything but genuine...or better yet meet me out there next time. I'll run'em from a dig or roll anytime without any childish animosity.

We can't all have a magic truck like Josiah. Its a simply formula, if you want it to go faster than it is now the first thing you should do is take the lift and big tires off. Unsprung weight and reduced aerodynamics always mean reduced acceleration no matter what you hear....its a simple engineering fact. If you want to keep the lift then don't worry about racing it on the street....thats not what you built it for. That would be like me complaining that my truck isn't good off road....use the truck for what you built it for.

Based on his configuration, your truck is probably 15% heavier than his. He's going to be tough to beat without some fairly significant mods.

For a grand total of 8 HP - enjoy!

Snake oil and pullies on an otherwise stock engine...somebody's marketing department is working overtime.
