Thats basically what I have, only I am running Airaids filter instead of the K&N. This set-up gave the truck a nice little kick, granted its not like bolting on a SC, but for less than $500 ($330 for Edge and 130 for Airaid Jr) I am very happy.

I took a look at the Airaid Jr and it looks like it pulls air in from the square hole behind the driver’s headlight. It is a better looking intake than the stock one. Does anyone know what the purpose is of the plenum chambers that Ford attached to the stock air intake and what there value might be?

This is a very interesting thread! I just got my Edge installed a few minutes ago. I bought some cheap high flow intake off ebay which I probably won't install it after reading this thread. It'll make cool deco for the garage though! Ok so aside for my ignorant waste of money purchase...

Adam made a good point about using a Airaid Jr for true CAI setup. Does anyone know for sure what would give the best performance increase? Seriously.

Those chambers on the stock intake are tuned chambers that cancel resonant noise at specific frequencies. They work very well even if you remove the restrictive snorkel that goes into the fender and replace it with something else.

Unfortunately the Edge is Illegal here in California, but I was wondering how difficult the install is. It appears from what I have read in these threads that it is not a DIY type install, you need a technician to install it?

So, the Airaid Jr. comes with a filter? . . or did you have to buy that as well?

It seems that most of the people had it installed leading me to believe that it was more than just attaching it to your dashboard. Also, I was not able to find an installation guide on there web site so I resorted to asking the question here. I would like to know what it takes to install the Edge so that other questions that I have could be address. Questions like: Do I have to have a wiring diagram of the vehicle? If I want to remove it are there going to be holes left in my dashboard? What kind of wiring is required, do I have to splice into a harness or does it just plug in some where? Are the instructions that come with it, good and easy to follow? Those sorts of questions come up.

Its one cable. It connects to your Edge and than your OBII port below your steering wheel. If you look below the panel which your knees face, you'll see it.

Its easy.

Plugs right into the computer port, not wiring diagram needed. Sits right ontop of your dash. You can go to Edges web site and down load the instructions. The unit velcros to the dash easy on and off. Guages work great and read very easy. If you have any more questions feel free.

Yes, it comes with a filter. So you get the tube and filter for right around $132 and that is what is called the Airaid Jr. The filter actually looks just like a K&N, but it says Airaid on it and also is supposed to have another layer of material that the K&N doesn't.

You can buy just the monotube for about $100, but then you would have to either use the stock filter or buy another brand.
